THE PACKAGING: I just finished up a batch of the another brand (180 pills size) of DLPA and kept the bottle. I put my DLPA powder in that using a clean sheet of copy paper wrapped in a cone as a funnel. I bought the 500-gram size and about half of the bag fits in this plastic bottle. The rest is zip locked in the cupboard. I can see how over time if you continued to open and close it that it would get filled with powder and no longer work.THE VALUE: The 500-gram size is basically quadruple the amount I was getting in the other brand for about half of what I would spend for 180 capsules. I guess I way over-estimated how much was in a 500-gram bag.THE MIXING: It doesn't like water that much, it kind of floated around on top of it and made bubbles filled with powder when I used my hand mixer. Today I tried mixing it with a bit of coconut oil and that seemed to work a little better, but it does jump all over the place. I have settled on just putting it in my mouth and chasing it with water.THE TASTE: I am not a fan on the taste (it kind of tastes like Sweet and Low).THE EFFECT: I have fibromyalgia and insomnia and I use DLPA for pain management. Almost immediately, there is a feeling of clarity and almost euphoria. The clarity lasts for hours and the euphoria fades to just a faint feeling nice calm. It doesn't keep me awake and I seem to have more refreshing sleep and different than usual dreams. I adapted to it within a few days and now I just take it at night to maintain the amount needed for pain management.MY DOSAGE: I use 2/3 teasp. twice a day (which is close to what I was taking before) and the effect is immediate almost as soon as it hits my mouth. In fact, I may go down to 1/2 a teasp. since it seems to work so quickly.My VERDICT: Very happy with my purchase. The product seems to be the real deal and the price is excellent. I will look into buying more products from this vendor.

I am writing this review in conjunction with L-Tryptophan (also from Bulk) as I started taking these on the same day.I started taking it because I had read that DLPA was supposed to help with sugar cravings as well as being an appetite suppressant. I have a pretty high stress job and my cortisol level is always really high. Because of that, I always seem to crave sugar. So I was looking for a natural way to help. The reason I say that I am writing this in conjunction with L-Tryp is because I had also read that L-Tryp was supposed to also mitigate carb cravings as well as be a mood booster. All of which I could certainly use. I am not overweight, but it would be nice to lose 5-10 pounds and if not having cravings for bad food helps me stay on course, then I am all for it!So the combination of DLPA and L-Tryp seemed to be the 1-2 punch I wanted to add to my arsenal. I take 500mg of L-Tryp at noon (I take it at noon because it had the opposite effect of helping me sleep when taken at night). On the same day, I added DLPA to my pre and post workout stack- 375mg in each stack. I can honestly tell you that in the 5 days that I have been taking both of these supplements, I have had ZERO cravings. Literally none. I am not craving sweets or chocolate or those deliciously bad carbs that I work so hard to stay away from. It has been no trouble at all staying on my eating plan (lean protein, lots of veggies, some fruit, good fats and limited grains). I have had no temptations and my appetite is diminished. let's be real, it's only been 5 days. But I can tell you that I am in a really good mood, I am having no cravings for junk foods, my energy in my workouts is great and I have energy and a clear mind all day. I do know that what I am doing seems to be working because I feel great and am really happy to say that I haven't had one iota of sugar since I started this 5 days ago.

It works! I'm on my second day taking this product, and I took a nap afterwork today, and I slept so well for the first time in a long time. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I randomly heard about this product on YouTube, and it sounded like something that would help me.

This product seems to be helping me to live with less pain and an added bonus is that I have a bit more energy and have been able to start doing things around the house I did not feel well enough to do before I started taking it. The product is cheap enough to give it a try. They also say after it is in your system you can reduce the amount you take and still feel the positive effects. I use this daily for the treatment of mild depression & chronic pain issues. I do notice a difference while on it. I believe many of us with chronic pain suffer with depression, and its a cyclic thing: more pain = more depression... and the more you are depressed, the worse the pain feels. It really effects your quality of life!
