Compound W Freeze Off Plantar Wart Remover Kit For Feet With Pumice File And Comfort Pads 8 Applications

(Warning: Method described below is not a recommendation, but an account of my own experience.)I had a wart on the base of my foot for almost ten years ( I know...gross). During this time, I tried many other methods of removing it, including expensive visits to the Doctors office to have them freeze it off. I even tried the duct tape and vinegar methods. None of these worked to remove the wart. Late last year I noticed the dime sized wart had spread nearby and created another wart. I had enough and decided that I was going to attack both of them with very aggressive methods. On the recommendation of at least one of the other reviewers I purchased 3 boxes of this product along with one Compound W fast acting gel. (Link below)I started treatment in January (2014). At first I used the product as directed for about 6 weeks, with the exception of increased freezing time. I would keep the applicator there until it was no longer cold. I would apply the gel directly after freezing each time and continued to use the gel every other day thereafter. I would keep a bandage (Flexible cloth-like ones worked best). Even with this, saw the wart(s) grow back slightly after about a week of each freezing. I increased the frequency of freezing applications to the point of re-applying when the the tenderness of the last application wore off. Sometimes this was 3 days....other times it was just 1 or 2 days. Before each freezing I would soak my foot in soapy water and carefully scrape it down with a pumice stone or the file included in the kit. I finally started to see some results with this combination. I was very careful to try and only freeze the wart and not the skin around it. Freezing the skin around it would make it tender for longer periods of time. After about 4 months from the start of treatment both warts appeared to be gone. I froze them once a week for another month just to be safe. It has been almost 3 months now and the warts appear to be gone. The skin is still rather dry in that area but appears to be healing up. I can actually see my footprint again.Update : 01/24/16The Warts are still gone!

For my pesky plantar wart that has recurred since college, salicylic acid pads followed by FREEZE OFF starting about a month later has been effective. Both worked well and were convenient.Warts are caused by the HPV virus. A blood supply grows into the wart and enables the virus to survive for decades. The small canister in Compound W Freeze Off contains a liquid mixture of dimethyl ether and propane that is so cold, it can kill the virus so the affected skin eventually sloughs off. One study found that freezing with liquid nitrogen (used in doctors' offices) cured about half of warts by 13 weeks. Over-the-counter freezing methods are not as cold as liquid nitrogen, so don't be deceived by the claims that warts may be destroyed in as few as 1 treatment. Read the instructions carefully or you might make the warts worse:1. You really do have to DISCARD THE FOAM APPLICATOR AFTER ONE USE; otherwise, the hearty virus can survive on the swab, and you'll reinfect the skin and possibly cause new warts when you reuse it.2. Use the pumice file (included) to file down callused skin after you take a shower or soak the foot. A thick callus will prevent the cold therapy from getting deep enough to kill the virus deep in the skin.3. If you get sharp pain while applying the treatment, you hit normal skin. Lift off the swab, wait for a few seconds, then dab at the wart for shorter periods. If it still hurts, stop.4. Use the foam pads, both for comfort and to prevent contact between the wart surface (which sheds virus) and your socks and shoes. Check the pads every day to make sure they didn't fall off or shift.If you go through several packages of any over-the-counter product without success, see a doctor. She/he may have to use a scalpel blade to pare down the warts, and use liquid nitrogen that is stronger than OTC remedies.

It works, but you have to be patient and use it much more aggressively than the instructions. I had a stubborn wart on my toe, it was a big cauliflower wart, it was there for 1 year before I started to treat it. I tried acid and freezing, both using this product and using nitrogen freezing at the clinic. The acid method did not work at all, each time I burn the wart and wait for it to heal, then it returns, each attempt I kept digging deeper using the acid until I reached the bleeding stage (not recommended), hoping to get results, but the stubborn wart kept coming back. I think the acid works by weakening the virus and stimulating the immune response against it, but it didn't work for me.Freezing did work eventually, but after so many attempts. Going to the clinic was cumbersome so I stopped and started using this product. In the end the wart was gone after I had used this to create a massive blister underneath and then I cut it off using small scissors while there's still liquid in it (yes, there is an infection risk). After that the wart was gone finally, probably after 6 months of treatment. What I believe happened is I finally managed to remove all the cells infected with the virus.

Since I was 12, I have been afflicted by warts. They come about every 6-9 years in the most odd places (under the nostril, back of the forearm, side of the knee, etc). I've tried everything. The liquid wart remover, no good, save your money.So how I tackle my warts is by following the included instructions, however, I really hit them hard. Whatever the instructions say, place frozen wart remover tip on wart for xyz seconds, I double it, rest for bout five minutes and hit it again. After I hit the wart, let it chill for bout 1-1.5 weeks, and hit it again. I keep going with that program until I note a very slight depression in the area of treatment. Ya gotta freeze these little @&*#!:@ down to the core. Once the treatment area starts to normalize, I assess to see if I missed anything. Sometimes I do (always the edges)), but then take a very focused approach.Bottom line, this product definitely works. Ya just have to have a well formed plan of attack.
