Controlling bleeding is a time critical thing, and I believe everyone should have something like this piece in their first aid kit. Another idea, whether rather of or in addition to this piece, is a hemostatic agent that triggers clotting of blood rather than relying on pressure. But be aware that those can anecdotally create quite a mess for the hospital to clean up. I was a little taken aback when I got this product. And so I'm left wondering who this Rhino Rescue is whose word I'm supposed to take that this is indeed a sterile bandage or that the pressure applicator (which, incidentally, has its label mixed up with the closure bar in the article image as of this writing) won't snap off when I need to use it. I tested out one of these bandages, and it seemed to apply pretty solid pressure, which is the most important thing when you're trying to control bleeding. The stretchy bandage kind of seemed like a thread was getting caught here and there, but it performed. In the enclosed video, I open up the Rhino bandage and apply it first clumsily to my arm (this one-handed operation clearly requires some practice -- turns out you're supposed to utilize the sleeve loop on the end near the pad) and then to my leg (where I do a somewhat finer job). I include a comparison photo of this product's packaging with that of a genuine Israeli bandage (FirstCare also puts out a sightly less expensive version in white packaging, not shown here). I like the idea of not having to pay for shipping from Israel, but I don't even know where this article was constructed and the knockoff of FirstCare's packaging makes me feel enjoy they're trying to get away with something. If someone were bleeding profusely and I didn't have a genuine FirstCare Emergency Bandage handy, I think this would probably be the next best thing. And the darker grey packaging makes it immensely difficult to read the information on the label, instructions and expiration date included. Their claimed expiration date isn't as far out as the genuine article, either -- five years from manufacture rather of eight -- though that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't last just as long, only that they don't claim that it will. So I could understand why someone would purchase this item. Assuming it truly is sterile, I think my only gripe would be that the gauze pad that's intended to go on the wound is only about 6.5" long as compared to 9" on the genuine article, at least according to the spec sheet (although I feel like I'm seeing inconsistency even in what are supposed to be photos of genuine Israeli bandages, so I'm not sure what exactly is going on). And one wonders if the patent is being respected here. I feel enjoy they're trying to trick the consumer into thinking they have the same product as is manufactured by FirstCare. That this was made by a different manufacturer isn't a atrocious thing in and of itself, but that they crafted the presentation look so similar to the original doesn't sit suitable with me. On the whole it seems like a decent craftsmanship product, and I could believe that it's about the same craftsmanship of materials as the FirstCare bandage. This model is just a basic single pad. The pressure applicator is capable of tearing the fabric a bit, but I believe that to be genuine of FirstCare as adequately. In all, this product seems fairly decently built. I can't even find any indication on this product's label as to where it was manufactured at all. So I think I have to give it four stars. It's a good idea to get an extra bandage so you have one to practice with, so you might want to get the four-pack if you want to have multiple of these on standby for emergencies. Also be aware that some versions of the Israeli bandage have a larger gauze pad with a detachable portion that folds out to cover more area and extra gauze for packing into a deep wound or bandaging a secondary wound (the T3), or a secondary mobile pad that might be useful if you have both entry and exit wounds. So I personally would pay the extra few bucks for the genuine article, but if I'm giving my honest opinion based on what I can see, there isn't a total lot to criticize in the bandage itself. The plastic parts seem to survive a reasonable amount of force. We keep an Israeli bandage in each of our cars, one in our residence first aid kit, and I keep a 4" one in my backpack. I thought this would be *the* Israeli bandage, but upon examining the listing more closely I see that it indeed says "Israeli style" bandage. Unstretched total length is around 63", which is about the same as the genuine article (which claims 65", but their definition of unstretched may differ slightly from mine).

These are wonderful for those small cuts and/or abrasions. Kind to your skin and protective to the wound.
