I take 1 drop of Lugol's Iodine in 8 oz of water daily. The instructions say to take 3 drops (3000 mcg) by mouth, immediately followed by purified water. I suppose you can take it either way, as long as you use water to dilute the iodine in your system. I find the water has a slightly odd taste with the iodine added, but not particularly objectionable. If multiple people in your household take iodine, this is a good deal. I am the only person in my home who takes it, and at nearly 400 doses per bottle (my order included 2 bottles and I only take 1/3 of the dose), I won't be able to use it all before the expiration date of Jan 2025. I'll have to come up with some additional uses. Also, the recommended dose is quite high- iodine supplementation is definitely something to discuss with your doctor or medical advisor before starting.

Got this for better health. Taste isn't so great but a few drops is all I take so that's not too bad. It's a good quality iodine from what I've researched.

I've been using Lugol's solution for many years as a convenient and effective way to supplement with iodine. I do this by placing my chosen dose on the skin and slightly rubbing it in. After a little while it is fully absorbed. The faster it is absorbed, the more deficient or in need my body has been. If it lingers on the skin longer than an hour, then supplementation probably isn't needed, but do your own research. I prefer the topical method rather than ingesting drops mixed in water. There is a slight taste when drops are added to water. It's not terrible, but not my preference. Also, iodine kills bacteria, so swallowing it may not be good for the gut flora. This is my first time trying this brand, and everything checks out perfectly. Its the right color, shade, consistency, and smell that I have experienced with other brands. The bottles came well protected in bubble wrap. A best by date 3-2026 on the wrapping, but I checked one of the bottles and it had a lot number with a date of 1-2025. The seller should fix this discrepancy to avoid confidence issues. However, KI is very stable, and it likely remains fine for much longer. The amount of product in these two bottles is vast, and will likely last most people for at least two or more years of supplementation.
