This is an interesting item. Because it's called a scrub, one would immediately think that it is to be rubbed into the skin and then rinsed away. And unfortunately, without written instructions on the jar, there may be a tendency to use it incorrectly. It's actually intended to be a product that is rubbed into the skin and left on, which is noted in the directions on the side of the outer box.This product is meant to be applied to the skin and left on, no removal.The spicules (tiny fragments) in the serum are pieces of a plant, the Indian Pennywort, which is said to hydrate and reduce inflammation. Also, there are spicules of hydrolyzed cellulose (sponge) which I assume fill the pores and expand with moisture, thereby reducing pore size. At least, that is my guess.The jar is pretty small, less than an ounce in size. I don't know how frequently to use it - daily? weekly? as desired? I did do a patch test as instructed, and other than feeling a slight tingle as the cautions mentioned, I didn't see any redness or itchiness. Regarding tightening of pores, that is hard to tell, because my skin doesn't have large pores to begin with. At 63 it has more wrinkles than anything else. I'm going to let my daughter, 30, try it, as she does have large pores and an uneven skin surface. I'll edit this review if there's a drastic change to her skin texture.

I've used several different spicule products and would consider this one to have a fairly mild spicule effect; in this respect it could be a good choice if you're new to spicule serums and want a gentler introduction. That said, I know everyone's skin varies.After reading the instructions, I was a little hesitant to apply it and just leave it. This was entirely based on the word "scrub" in the product name; I usually equate scrubs with something to rinse off. However, I applied it to my chin and nose (areas that I felt needed help at the time) and went about my home improvement project, thinking I could rinse off if I felt the need. About 45 minutes later, I realized I had forgotten about that plan because there was no longer any texture or layer of anything on my face, which I had not touched since application. It had just absorbed, leaving my skin feeling soft and not at all like I needed to rinse it.Pretty interesting unique skincare product; I will work this into my rotation of weekly treatments.

I ordered the Porethera Melting Scrub Serum - Korean Face Serum, 0.84 fl.oz by MEDITHERAPY. The product comes boxed with the ends of the box sealed for tamper proofing. There is a small spoon in a fold in the box, I wouldnt have found it if the instructions didnt mention it. I believe the expiration date is 5/26, though it is in a code. I am fairly confident about the 2026 though so that gives me a year to use it which is sufficient. The listing shows a white serum. What I received is a dark apricot colored serum. Since it didnt smell rancid, I continued to test even with the extreme color difference. There is no smell at all in fact, which I appreciate so much.I have never used a product like this so I have no comparative experience. The instructions say to use a spoonful but given the very small overall amount of product I opted to use a spoon TIP full, maybe about half a pea sized bit. I used this on my forehead area only. I otherwise followed the directions and was quite oily after use. Some grittiness remained after two minutes of rubbing in. The next morning I was still very moisturized but I wouldnt call it greasy. I think I will only use this product at night, just based on how long it didnt fully absorb in (I was awake for a couple of hours after use and it was still greasy at that point). This product is so different that I cannot say yet if I like it or not, continued testing is required and I will update after I have formed a better opinion.I researched Spicules since I had not heard of this ingredient before. Apparently its the hot new thing in skin care and works by creating tiny cuts in the skin with the idea that when you skin heals, it heals "better". I have never tried microdermabrasion but this sounds like a less controlled (since the Spicules can go anywhere you rub) version of that. I know with microdermabrasion it is advised that you only go so deep. I could not find information on how deep these Spicules go. I will continue to test but wanted to post this information in case anyone is wary of that sort of treatment.

The MEDITHERAPY Porethera Melting Scrub Serum is a really unique serum that works great, and is easy to add into my daily beauty routine. After washing my face, I use a toner, and then this serum. It has a small spatula included to scoop it out. It only takes one small scoop, then I massage it into the problem areas on my face (which is pretty much all of it). It says it works even better if while using this you add in your usual serum with it - which I have also been doing. This is not a wash off product - instead you let it melt into your skin. I can already see a reduction in my pore size, as well as my skin's texture is more even, and smoother, too. Overall, I think it's very well made with high quality ingredients - a good value for the price. This scrub serum was really unusual to me and was kind of skeptical to try it at first. But after I tried it though, I realized that it melts as you keep rubbing it on your skin especially when you mix it with other serums towards the end. It does take like a few minutes to scrub it in so you need a bit of patience. well it does seem like it kind of works now that I've been using it for a few weeks now. I didn't use it every single day because I was too tired to be scrubbing this in after a long day so maybe there would've been a bigger difference if I did. I find this new method super interesting and it seems like it works!
