Murphy's Naturals Mosquito And Tick Bug Repellent Spray Oil Of Lemon Eucalyptus For Skin And Outdoor Gear Four Ounce Pump Two Pack

Was skeptical. I'm usually the one who gets mauled by every bug in the evening. Went outside tonight and did not get one bug bite. It did not feel greasy and didn't notice it. There is a strong smell but I liked it. Reminds me of turpentine. 4/5 due to it being so expensive. Otherwise I will be getting it a lot.

We can only share one experience with this product, but it was a good one! Last year we cruised from San Francisco to Miami through the Panama Canal. One of our ports of call was Puntarenas, Costa Rica, with an excursion to the rain forest high in the San Luis Natural Park. This repellent went along. There were plenty of mosquitos and gnats in the air, and some of our companions were complaining, but we had no bites at all. Didn't even have to shoo insects away. The hike took about two hours and the spray seemed to be effective for that entire time.

I took this to Brazil on the Dropy river, lived on a boat for over a week and maybe got bit a handful of times when I forgot to apply before the bugs came out in the evening. I applied in the morning if I was up early with the bugs, early in the evening as the bugs were coming out, and again before bed since we slept in open air hammocks.I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to a high risk mosquito zone, but I would also recommend that this be applied with caution as it is potent! I didn't take any really fine clothes that I'd be concerned with, but didn't notice any issues there with hue running or eating at material. Only utilize when wanted! I was not one of them. I had no issues with the bottle leaking but still put it in plastic as a precautionary. As others have said though, this stuff is quite powerful chemically. It ran my nail polish (going to try gel nails on my trip to panama this year and see how they hold up), and also the colors of my rubber flip flops instantly. It ran down the bottle a bit and ate at the label. Many people I was with got bit multiple times despite using regular grade bug spray.

Initially, I bought this for a friend who reacts extremely badly to mosquito bites. Where we live, there are a *lot* of mosquitoes, ticks, and biting flies in the warmer months. Before, we just always covered ourselves in a 30-40% deet spray. (The tick-borne illnesses in our region especially make this a necessity.) Even with the deet though, it is unpleasant to go outside in summer because the deet spray doesn't really seem to deter the biting flies which just zoom around and around us in threatening circles. My friend, though, is a mosquito magnet, and gets numerous bites every time they go outside in the warmer months. When they get bitten by mosquitoes, the bites often become huge welts, which become infected, and can take weeks to heal. This spray has been a game changer. Neither one of us has been bitten by anything since we started using this spray, and mosquitoes and biting flies don't come anywhere near us.It has a strong scent that reminds me of lemons, but in a pleasant way. We will definitely be buying this again! The only con is that it's a pump spray, so when i try to spray my feet and legs, I have to keep turning the bottle right side up, and pump it a few times, to fill the little straw inside back up, so that it will spray properly upside down.
