I have had to get these multiple times, but I will say that every single time I get them they work very well. The adhesive isn't super strong so I cover the patch with medical tape, but that might just be my experience. P

Long time smoker, trying to quit (again) and decided I would spend the money and use patches + gum to attempt to wean myself off cigarettes this time. I'm only on day three but I can tell it's effective but the adhesion has been terrible. I'll admit it's summer, and I live in a humid part of the world where temps have been especially high lately so that may have something to do with it. I'm not a particularly sweaty guy but it may be enough to affect how well it adheres to my skin. I've been resorting to band aids to keep them adhered properly. I did notice on day two, I placed a band aid over the patch and half way through the day the band aid started to lose adhesion so as I was about to replace it, I noticed the patch was no longer curling off on the edges and had fully adhered to my skin. It managed to stay on for the rest of the night until the next morning when I removed it.As far as everything else, it seems to be effective. I've attempted to quit in the past and the first 3-4 days are always the worst. I get moody and agitated, etc. I haven't felt like that so far and I'm on day 3 right now. I'll continue with the patch, and I'll see how well it works. My father used the patches to quit a long time ago so I hope I can do the same.Good luck to you and I hope we all manage to kick this unhealthy habit.Update (07/23/23) Well, it's been 10 days. I wanted to come back to update my review because I mostly didn't care for the adhesion problems and I knew that it was the heat/sweat giving me issues. I was correct. It's cooled down this past week, and I've noticed that they stick much better now. They're still not perfect, I can't just slap them on in the morning and go. I need to place it, and apply some even pressure for a good minute to stop it from curling at the edges but that sure beats what I was dealing with the first few days. I've changed my review from four to five stars. These patches are helping me kick my cigarette habit, and now that it's not 90+ degrees with 75% or more humidity, I am able to properly apply the patch without worrying about it coming off throughout the day.But seeing how I am updating, I may as well go ahead and give some more updates. As previously mentioned I've been trying to wean myself off cigarettes with these patches and gum rather than quitting cold turkey as I've attempted in the past. I've slipped up and smoked, which I expected, but I can say with certainty that these are helping me. I've gone from nearly a pack a day smoker to 2-3 on my weakest days. I still crave that morning cigarette but less so lately. I still want to smoke after meals but I've been telling myself, "give it 10 minutes and then decide" and that's helped me choose to not smoke in those certain moments. Just the other night I went out to smoke and the taste was just so off putting that I couldn't believe just how bad a cigarette seemed to me and I put it out half way. It's only been 10 days, and I plan on following through with their entire 3 step program which amounts to 10 weeks. I am confident that if I can cut back this much in 10 days, I can completely rid myself of them by 10 weeks. I may seem overconfident but the proof is there, and I'm never going to quit by dragging my feet and questioning my will to actually do it.Again, good luck to you and I hope we can all manage to kick this unhealthy habit.Final Update (10/03/24)Okay, this update is well overdue. If you notice the date, it's been over a year since I originally made this review. I didn't give this review much thought after I last updated it but I was reminded today and decided I would come back and share the good news. I am cigarette free for over a year now. Urges still exist but they're more and more rare as time goes on... I can confidently say these patches helped me get to this point. As mentioned in the original review, if you're looking for advice, I would recommend that you combine the patch with the gum and don't beat yourself up if you slip up and smoke a cigarette. I am a smoker of about 20 years that smoked about a pack a day. I loved having one to relax, enjoy weather on the patio or with a drink. To be clear, I have never wanted to stop smoking, but I knew it was something that needed to happen. I have attempted to stop three times and I will take the time to highlight my failed and successful attempts because it is worth it. Before we start, smoking is a chemical and psychological addiction, which I think we all know. I see two factors to it. Not only are we addicted to the nicotine, but we are addicted to the habit and emotional responses that are tied to the habit.First Attempt (not successful):This attempt was a long time ago. I used Chantix and it assisted in no way for me. Personally, I don't recommend this.Second attempt (more successful):I was prescribed Buproprian or Wellbutrin. Buproprian assists with the nicotine withdraws. It took about a week to get used to the medication and it was uncomfortable the first few days like with any medication. It initially made me really tired and I slept a lot. I was also really emotional about breaking up with smoking. It felt like a true breakup because I was so attached to the habit. You feel the new chemical in your body. You smoke for two weeks while on the medication and select a hard cutoff date. I found the medication extremely helpful with curving cravings. In addition to the medication, I used a vape with liquid that contained no nicotine. I was successful with this for 6 months. HERE IS WHERE I FAILED: The vape kept the addiction to the habit and when I went out to have drinks socially, towards the end, I gave myself allowances by having a drag or just smoking one. Eventually it leads to more than one, then just one pack and finally, you are smoking again. You CANNOT give yourself allowances.Last attempt (most successful):I was already on Lexapro (anti-depressant/anxiety/10MG) this time which is also supposed to assist with the withdraws and curve cravings. I added Buproprian (150MG) again. While both assist with withdraws, I assume that Buproprian alone will work, but have not tested that with the rest of the factors I am about to list. This combo made me extremely tired where I slept all day. So I cut both medications in half and that worked in regard to the medications. If I was only taking Buproprian without Lexapro, I would take the full amount and not half it. In addition, I added the patch to it. I knew this time, no vape and no allowances. First few days: I wanted a cigarette, but didn't need one. 1-3 weeks, you minds breaks ties with the habit part (i.e.--being outside on your favorite patio, smoking after eating). It is kind of a trip, you think "oh, I need to go smoke a cigarette right now". Not because you are craving it, but because you trained yourself to. You then remember that you cannot. After 2-3 weeks, you have already replaced the habit portion with other daily habits--even if it is being in all of the same places, but with the absence of smoking.I have tested many options and read 1000s of reviews on how to stop smoking. If you don't want to spin your wheels and become discouraged, I suggest looking into the last option I listed. As a once hardcore smoker that couldn't imagine my life without it. I can say that the first couple of days are a little uncomfortable, you forget about the habit a few weeks in. I feel like the craving goes away before your miss of the actual habit. Ultimately, there is some residual. Maybe once a month, a thought pops into my head that a cigarette would taste really good right now, but it quickly goes away. It is nothing I would act on again. NicoDerm step one nicotine patches are the best nicotine patches I've ever purchased! These may be costly for 14 patches, but they are well worth the price versus the cost of a pack of cigarettes. I use the Dropy's subscribe and save program to save a little extra money. I smoked a half a pack of cigarettes a day. These patches have curved my cravings for a cigarette. The durability I've found isn't always the best so I've purchased bandage the same size as the patch which I apply over the patch to keep it adhered to my skin. The bandages are of little cost to me and well worth keeping the patch on my skin. I apply it in the morning when I have my cup of coffee. This is when I would normally go outside to smoke a cigarette. I do take this patch off at bedtime as I've read sleeping with them can cause awful dreams. I've had no issues in maintaining my abstinence by removing them at night. From the day one of applying a patch to my skin, yes, I had to be determined day one of my abstinence but this patch played a vital role in getting me through my first day of not smoking. I have continue to use them and have maintained my absence from cigarettes. I highly recommend this brand in this product.
