This stuff is amazing! I started using it for memory problems that developed following severe sleep deprivation (after 18 mos sleeping 3X a week I lost much of my short term memory and still have lasting memory problems). I would say that it works better than anything else I've tried for increasing cognitive function, and I have tried everything. I have at some point tried almost any supplement you can think of and this is my favorite by far. I noticed a significant difference the very first time I used it, I can't say that about any other supplements I've tried. It far exceeded my expectations. It gives an amazing sense of clarity, as if the brain fog just lifts away. Almost like in those claritin clear commercials. It helps with focus and motivation (I have to study A LOT). However, what surprised me was the amount of energy I have when I take this. I have always had problems with overwhelming fatigue (regardless of how much I sleep), after about 1pm my body suddenly becomes lead and it's a serious struggle to accomplish anything. I have always had problems with overwhelming fatigue even as a child (I'm only 25). There seemed to be no reason for this since I have no health problems and was very active. At one point I became extremely physically fit and worked out 4 hours a day and no amount of exercise helped with the fatigue. Caffeine and nicotine never helped much. I am now thinking that I may have been choline deficient most of my life. However, when I take this the overwhelming fatigue just never happens. This is reason enough to keep taking this. Another thing I noticed is that my appetite (which is normally insatiable and very difficult to control) is severely diminished (a good thing for me), and I have far fewer sugar cravings.I gave these to my grandma and she is far more sensitive to the effects. One capsule in the morning keeps her working like a machine in the garden and around the house.Make sure you take them in the morning! My grandma took them at 2pm once and didn't sleep the whole night.This is an excellent "stimulant", with none of the bad effects of caffeine or nicotine and anything else. It's adaptogenic too! It's actually good for you!Another interesting effect I've noticed is a change in the way I dream. I have always had very vivid dreams with crazy, nonsensical plots. My dreams since taking this are oddly coherent and seem to follow one plot rather than diverging into random nonsense. This is likely just another result of the increased availability of acetylcholine affecting how my neurons fire.I feel like this stuff just evens out my brain. Can't recommend this enough! Highly recommend to anyone with chronic fatigue.

CDP-choline comes in at a close second, but the price on Dropy justifies dishing out a little more for this form of choline. I've heard that the effects of Alpha-GPC can be best felt when "recovering" from any activity or event that puts stress on the body and can significantly alter your mental capabilities (Alzheimer's, stroke, etc.). I can attest to this fact as I've noticed great results after sleepless nights working on projects and such. It has boosted the cognitive enhancing effects of caffeine for me in many cases, in the way of making my mind clearer on the task at hand. I'd say about 1/4 times, I won't notice any effects from it, but that other 3/4 of the time makes this product worth it for me in the end. As of this writing, I could not find a less expensive form of this product, so both the price and the effects prompted me to order 4 of them. I hope you derive the same-or better-type of benefits from the product, should you choose to purchase it. Highly recommended.Update 01/21/12: After using this product for months at a time, I felt it was far superior to the CDP-choline (which has fallen farther behind than the "close second" I described it as being previously). I wasn't absolutely sure if what I was feeling was "true" as the placebo effect for many supplements can play a far bigger role than the supplement itself. Which is exactly what the placebo effect is, and my biggest fear when deciding on supplements to take. No one wants to dish out hard-earned money for self-delusional mind-tricks, even if they do "help" in the end. However, even after initial skepticism (which I always have in order to catch myself playing mind-tricks on myself), this product has performed consistently well and as I was searching for the entry on nootropics on wikipedia, I read this: "Alpha-GPC--thought to be the only cholinergic that delivers choline to the brain across the Blood-brain barrier; sold under its chemical name". I have absolutely found this to be the case, as all my other supplements I have taken that float around the nootropic forum discussion haven't had nearly the effect on my learning as these have. And I read this after I had already decided this was the real deal. In other words, I have now become a disciple for the product. I should mention, however, that this product has proven useless by itself (at least for me). When it's combined with a CNS stimulant, such as caffeine or whatever else you're privy to, the effects stand out big time. So, taking it in conjunction with something else will reap the biggest reward for you. Just an opinion based on my observation and many others how frequent forums on nootropics. So I sit at my desk all day. I have four screens. One screen is always set on Facebook, Gmail, and some random link I clicked on Facebook. The other day I got a `stiff neck' from always looking to the right-hand screen. I have no issues with focus.
