Product details
Description
Abatron LiquidWood is a professional-grade structural epoxy wood consolidant designed to breathe new life into rotted, decayed, or spongy wood. This two-part system consists of a high-penetration resin and hardener that travel deep into wood fibers to solidify the material from within. It is an essential solution for homeowners and restoration experts looking to save original architectural elements rather than replacing them.
Once cured, the treated wood becomes harder than the original and can be processed just like natural timber—you can saw, sand, drill, nail, or paint it without any risk of shrinking or cracking. This kit is particularly effective for high-value items like antique furniture, window sills, and structural columns. It provides a waterproof and weatherproof seal that prevents future decay while maintaining the integrity of the wood's appearance.
Whether you are restoring a heritage home or repairing outdoor millwork, this low-odor, zero VOC formula ensures a safe and permanent fix for deteriorated surfaces.
How to use
- Begin by cleaning the wood surface to remove loose debris and ensuring it is dry.
- Mix equal volumes of Part A and Part B in a clean container for at least one to two minutes until completely blended.
- Apply the mixture to the rotted wood using a brush, sponge, or by pouring it directly onto the area until the wood is saturated.
- Allow the liquid to penetrate and cure for several hours or overnight depending on the temperature.
- Once fully hardened, the surface can be sanded or planed before applying paint or wood filler.

FAQs
What is epoxy wood consolidant?
An epoxy wood consolidant is a low-viscosity liquid resin designed to soak into softened, decayed wood. It cures into a hard, structural solid that reinforces the remaining wood fibers and prevents further deterioration.
Is Abatron LiquidWood just epoxy?
While it is an epoxy system, it is specifically formulated with a very low viscosity to act as a consolidant. Unlike standard thick epoxy glues, it behaves like water to deeply penetrate porous, rotted wood before hardening.
Can a rotting wood table top be refinished?
Yes, by using LiquidWood to solidify the spongy or rotted areas first. Once the wood is hardened and stabilized, you can sand the surface and apply a new finish or paint to restore the table's appearance.
Is this Abatron LiquidWood kit an authentic USA import for India?
Yes, this product is an authentic import from the USA. Dropy India sources Abatron products directly from American suppliers to ensure Indian customers receive genuine, high-performance wood restoration materials.
How to apply LiquidWood?
Apply by brushing or pouring the mixed resin onto the rotted area. For vertical surfaces, it can be injected into pre-drilled holes to ensure the consolidant reaches the core of the wood structure.
