    It works.

    I use various pain relieving products in various forms. Biofreeze is one of the best topical ointments I have found. I have had both my knees replaced, my left ankle is more metal than bone. I have both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and have back issues. But, I also do 5K's and I am currently training for a half marathon. I also do Spin classes on a regular basis. Biofreeze keeps me going. It smells like menthol when you first put it on. It's a nice smell, if you like menthol. Either way, the smell does go away after awhile. Still, if you don't like the smell of cooling menthol, this is not the product for you. Biofreeze gives you a cooling sensation when you first apply it to your skin that is especially nice in the summer where I live (Phoenix, AZ). It's colorless, so it's never stained any of my clothes. Biofreeze is not tested on animals which is important to me. I highly recommend Biofreeze pain relieving gel.

    I didn't expect this to work, but it did!

    I purchased this because I was looking for ANYTHING that might help the pain of my rotator cuff injury. Since I can't get surgery yet (life with a toddler will do that to you!), I've been trying to manage the pain, but it's not easy. Over the counter medications don't help much and the stronger prescription meds barely take the edge off on most days, so I've started looking for anything else that might help.Biofreeze looked like a good bet. I was pretty skeptical of all the options out there that claim pain relief, because...well, if medications can't cut it, then what's to say this is better? But I was getting desperate for some relief from the constant pain.I've used Biofreeze for a week now, and I'm honestly stunned by how much this has helped me! The first night I used it, at first I thought it wasn't going to do anything. It took about ten minutes for it to kick in. But once it did...wow. The "freeze" part is quite accurate! It felt like someone had poured ice over my shoulder. The pain faded to a dull roar, and that was enough to make me want to cry with relief. I figured it would last for only a few minutes, but even that was enough for me.About thirty minutes later, it was still working. I fell asleep. What really surprised me was the feeling when I woke up in the morning. The freeze effect was gone by then, of course, but my shoulder actually felt better. It was so strange, because I knew it couldn't be working all those hours later. I used it again and went about my day...the pain was less. Then I used it the second night, and this time the relief was even greater. By the third night I had decided that I will buy more of this, probably the professional formula -- it's a little stronger -- and use it every night. The relief is worth it.I'm not sure HOW this is giving me so much relief from the pain. I understand the ingredients help ease the muscles...I get that the 'freeze' effect is great for relieving pain for a brief period of time. But I didn't expect this kind of long-term relief from using it. I'm not sure how it works, but at this point I've just decided that it WORKS, and that's enough for me.If there is a downside, it might be how strong it smells at first...it's enough to really clear the sinuses! But it really is a vanishing scent that's gone in a few minutes. It's not bad enough to make me stop using it, that's for sure.This is the gel, and I understand it comes in different ways of application, so I'm not sure how those work. But the gel feels very light on the skin, massages in beautifully, and leaves very little residue behind. I like that it's very easy to spread over the skin and absorbs fast.All in all, this is a great product. I'm looking forward to trying the professional formula!

    It really works

    Ive already reviewed this is think but here goes. So I use this with causation. I have a lot of back pain as I have a herniated disk so I first apply causation then I apply the biofreeze. It really works but prepare yourself for the icyhot heat. Not right away it takes time but the mixture keeps heat on that area like a heating pad would. It really works.

    Helps sore muscles

    This stuff is a lifesaver. My job is really physical and part way through the day I usually reach for the biofreeze. It does have a kind of strong smell but I like the smell so it doesn't bother me, even helps clear my sinuses haha. I'm glad I could buy in bulk since I go through a good bit of it and always like to have a bottle handy.
