    Fantastic food for cats with sensitive stomachs.

    One of my cats has always thrown up more than most cats. She was also a lot smaller than my other cat of the same breed. The vet suspected she had a food allergy and recommended a prescription cat food with a single protein not normally used in cat food. She would eat the prescription diet, but only if she was really hungry. Even so, she stopped being sick and began gaining weight. I decided to try Blue Buffalo limited ingredient duck to see how she does with it. I can't recommend it enough. First, it comes in the smaller cans, which the prescription diet does not. It is less expensive (although not by much) than the prescription cat food. My cat hasn't gotten sick from eating it, and has continued to gain weight. Most importantly, both of my cats love this food. They eat it right away without waiting until they are starving. My formerly sickly cat is healthier than she's ever been.

    Solved Diarrhea/Smelly Poop Problem!

    Recently adopted a new cat who was having major problems with loose stool (sometimes liquid) and it smelled HORRIBLE! Cleared the room when she pooped. Took her to vet to be sure no parasite or bacteria -- negative on both. Began trial error with food. Cut out chicken and beef first. Then cut fish. Played around with brands and then finally moved to a limited ingredient diet -- both dry food (natural balance duck) and wet. Tried the turkey/potato and it was ok, but still a little loose and smelly. Finally landed on this DUCK as one that my cat will eat and it markedly improved her poop -- it's normal shape and smell now. What a relief!!! So, in summary what worked for my cat with tummy trouble was limited ingredient diet, with only one protein. She eats dry and wet duck. Good luck!

    My cat's favorite and gentle on his stomach

    My cat is a picky eater and will show his displeasure by throwing up. He loves his food and will eat all of it with no stomach upset.

    So far, so good

    So far, so good.My cat developed an allergy and has been scratching his face raw in some spots. The vet and I have run through every test possible including a food trial, a blood allergy test, a regular blood test (to rule out illnesses like diabetes), we ruled out fleas, we cannot find the cause.So for now, one thing I am trying is a limited ingredient diet and making sure my boy gets plenty of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids (which contribute to healthy skin and coat). This canned food provides both. He likes the taste (I admit, he's not a picky eater). I do find it a bit thick, the first time I gave it to him, he left some in the bowl which is very odd for him (he usually gobbles up his own and then moves on to his brother's bowl). So I have been watering it down a tad and that seemed to do the trick, he's back to gobbling (and stealing his brother's).He is still scratching a bit, but I am seeing some improvement. We are keeping the extreme scratching at bay, which is the best we can do right now.Also, check out "Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Recipe Natural Wet Canned Cat Food" by Nature's Variety. They have a duck flavor too (and rabbit, which I may try). What I like about Instinct over Blue is that Blue has fish oil, Instinct does not. If you're keeping your cat off fish (which I am), Instinct seems like the better choice. They also have 5.5 ounce cans which I prefer.I am also using a limited ingredient DRY cat food that includes Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids (Blue Basics, Natural Balance and Blue Wilderness are three good choices, I think - update, take a look at "Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Grain Free Recipe Natural Dry Cat Food" by Nature's Variety too, no fish/salmon oil in that one).
