  Absorbs completely, odorless, moisturizing

  While I use sunscreen literally every single time I go outside of my house, every once in a while I get too much sun while on an all-day hike. So I ordered this After Sun Soothing Lotion to accompany my Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen which I've been using for 15 years.If you already use Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen, you know that it is quite thick. This After Sun Soothing Lotion is odorless and quite light, much lighter than their sunscreen. It absorbs into my skin almost immediately without leaving any oily film on my skin. It's very moisturizing. While I haven't had a sunburn in years, I can see how it would be soothing because of the quick absorption into the skin. My skin stays moist for hours after applying. I purposefully did not re-apply sunscreen while hiking to test out this product, and found that it was soothing to my skin which was dried out from the sun.I've been using Blue Lizard sun products for 15 years, ever since I had a Fraxel Laser procedure on my face to remove melasma. My dermatologist, renown Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick (who was one of the developers of Fraxel Laser) told me to use Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen because it's the best on the market (other than his extremely expensive Skin Medica line). Consequently, my face skin looks 10 years younger than it is. I neglected to use it on my hands and arms for 10 years, and I can really tell the difference. I'm pointing this out because I trust Blue Lizard, and have extremely high expectations of this company.Considering my dermatologist's trust in and my experience with this company's sunscreen products, I will continue to use this After Sun Lotion. I think it's a good value at $12.99 for 6 ounces.

  Effective, good unisex scent.

  My husband and I recently went skiing for a weekend and brought home some sunburned skin! The front and back of our ears were very red and sore, and using this Blue Lizard After Sun Soothing Lotion made such a difference. This is a lightweight lotion that packs a large hydration punch. It contains good moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, glycerin, aloe, and more. The large flip-top tube made it fast and easy to apply to the skin. It absorbed immediately and it was cooling to my hot ears. We used this multiple times and the redness gradually improved, and my skin felt soft and pliable. My husband liked it, too. He said that he found it soothing and hydrating, and he liked that it had a faint cucumber scent and not something "girlie". lol We used it many times, and were so happy that we had it on hand. It worked well!Right now on Dropy this is approx $13 for 6 oz, which is a great size and value.

  Worked well on cold and wind damaged skin.

  I really like this product. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test on sunburn because it's mid winter here and it's been absolutely brutal. However, I have tried it on my wind damaged face. We've had a lot of below zero weather and I work outside a lot. My cheeks were starting to get really dry and irritated from sun, cold, and wind damage. I tried this on my cheeks and it really seems to help. It absorbed well and has a really nice moisturizing property to it. The scent wasn't too much either. I did not have adverse reactions to it.

  Soothed well!

  Okay...it's winter and the sun isn't out much, but when you sit outside all day for a game and forgot to apply sunscreen you can still get burnt! This "after sun soothing lotion" did the job and calmed the soreness in just a couple of applications. The lotion is thick and took a while to work in, but since I wasn't leaving the house just left it a little on top of the skin to just allow it to be there. Due to this it's easy to apply, but difficult to work in. Because it was difficult to absorb into the skin it did leave a little residue on the skin making it a little sticky/tacky at first. It was certainly effective in soothing the feeling of wind and sun exposure and allowed me to get some much needed sleep.This is said to be "fragrance-free", but there's a "smell" to the lotion. It's not overly UN-pleasant, but not something I'd want to apply and then go out in public or be close to others (that aren't family). So I might suggest this be more an evening application to sooth before going to bed.This is currently available for about $13. I'm not sure if this is a value or not as I don't usually shop for these kind of lotions, but it was good to request and have on hand when it was unexpectedly needed.
