FAQs
Do you need a backing pad for a sander?
Yes, a backing pad provides the structural foundation for attaching sanding discs and helps absorb vibrations while transferring orbital motion to the work surface. Using a dedicated pad like the Bosch RS6046 ensures stability and prevents uneven sanding.
What is hook and loop fixing on a sander?
Hook and loop fixing is a fastening system similar to Velcro that allows abrasive sanding discs to be securely pressed onto the backing pad and easily peeled off for quick replacements during projects.
How to change the sanding plate on a Bosch sander?
Unplug your sander, remove the retaining screws using the appropriate hex wrench or screwdriver, take off the old pad, align the new Bosch RS6046 pad with the mounting alignment holes, and tighten the screws securely.
Is this Bosch sanding pad an authentic imported product available in India?
Yes, this is an authentic USA-imported Bosch product. Dropy sources directly from the USA to guarantee genuine quality for customers in India.
Why are my Bosch orbital sander pads not sticking?
Sandpaper backing can wear out over time due to heat, dust accumulation, or frequent disc changes, causing the hook-and-loop fibers to lose their grip. Replacing a worn backing pad restores proper adhesion for your sanding discs.
