FAQs
What is a student lamp shade?
A student lamp shade is a traditional bell-shaped or slant-sided glass shade historically used on oil or electric student desk lamps. It features a wide opening designed to direct task lighting downward while diffusing a soft, ambient glow through cased glass.
How to measure fitter size for glass shade?
To measure your fitter size, measure the outside diameter of the bottom opening of the shade where it inserts into the lamp holder ring. A 7-inch fitter shade requires a matching 7-inch shade holder or gallery ring.
What color lamp shade is best?
Green over white opal cased glass is considered the traditional choice for classic student lamps because the white interior reflects maximum illumination downward while the green exterior reduces harsh glare.
Are these imported USA products available in India authentic?
Yes, Dropy India sources 100% authentic USA-imported products directly, ensuring you receive genuine brand-name items delivered straight to your doorstep in India.
How do I clean and maintain cased glass lamp shades?
Clean the shade gently using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth and mild soapy lukewarm water. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scrubbers to preserve the polished glass finish.
