BulkSupplements Organic Pea Protein Powder Plant Based And Vegan Unflavored Supplement 100 Grams

Bought the Bulk Supplements.com Clean & Pure Bulk Supplements Pea Protein over a week ago. I have purchased protein powder before, but this is my first time purchasing a single ingredient (without all of the additional fillers). This is also the first time I've purchased from Bulk Supplements.com. I already own several different types of pea protein powder mixes. But I like the idea of being able to make one on my own, basically customized to my needs/ wants. I also liked the idea of it being 100% product without any allergens. So I wanted to give it a try.Strengths:*This is 100% pea protein. There are no other added ingredients.* The size of the bag is 1 kilogram or 2.21 pounds.* It has 33 servings, of which each serving contains 110 calories and 24 gm of protein. It also contains iron, sodium, and potassium.* It comes in a heavy plastic bag that is lined with foiled and clear plastic for appropriate storage.* It mixes easily into liquids, via spoon, smoothie shaker, or blender.* The taste is very mild.* Incredible value.Weaknesses:* It does not contain a scooper, like most powder proteins* You need to be creative, with what you mix it in. Juice and coconut milk has worked well so far.* There are not clear directions on how it is recommended that you take it, nor how much to take.Final Thoughts:I am very excited to find this company, in which I can combine multiple supplements that are 100% from the natural source, and free of fillers. The price point is very reasonable. I am hopeful to find some recipes that will state how much to use and other ingredients to make a great tasting and healthy protein shake!heavy

I workout 3 to 5 times a week. Recently, in order to lower my cholesterol, I eliminated all meat and dairy from my diet. I needed a good source of protein and decided to do smoothies. I make my smoothies in a blender and they consist of pea protein and some frozen fruit. I first tried Now Sports Pea Protein Vanilla Toffee and found it to be good, but it contained an artificial sweetener and salt. I looked into other options and I am glad that I decided to try Bulk Supplements pea protein (unflavored) instead of the Now Sports pea protein (unflavored). The quality of Bulk Supplements Pea Protein is good. Bulk Supplements is the same or a bit finer in texture than Now Sports (my understanding is all pea proteins have a bit of a gritty texture). Price is great. Bulk Supplements provided more by weight at a lower price than Now Sports. Note that Bulk Supplements has 30 grams with 24 grams of protein which is better than one scoop of Now Sports Vanilla Toffee at 41 grams with 25 grams of protein or unflavored at 33 grams with 24 grams of protein. Interestingly, when comparing by volume, Bulk Supplements had much more volume than what I imagined 100 grams would be, so maybe more servings too. I have had success with using Bulk Supplements pea protein in my smoothies -- no strange or pea flavors when mixed with some frozen fruit. With regards to delivery, all went fine. The package arrived on time and in good condition. Everything is clearly labeled.Overall, I will be purchasing more of Bulk Supplements Pea Protein.Update 11/20/2015: Just received my second order of Pea Protein. Good product. Works well in my smoothies.

Price: This is pretty much as good a deal as you're going to get on protein. ~33 servings in a 1 kg bag for $18, and each serving has 24g of protein. That's 792 grams of protein total, which works out to around $0.02 per gram of protein. This is an outstanding value.Taste: It's pure pea protein, so the taste is pretty bland. A few reviewers have described the taste as being bitter or otherwise unpalatable, but that's not accurate. It's just bland, raw pea protein (which is the point). Remember, most of the pea protein powders you find at your local store are combined with other ingredients such as stevia, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, etc. to make the powder more flavorful and sweet (for double or triple the price, too). If you're used to those products then, if you try this, you may not like the taste since you're expecting the sweetened, chocolaty version of it. In any case, you can always add extra ingredients yourself. There are tons of recipes online; my personal favorite is peanut butter and a banana mixed with some almond milk in a blender. On most days though I just combine it with some almond milk or water in a shake cup and it's perfectly fine.Quality: The powder itself is homogeneous and easy to scoop, and it mixes pretty well with whatever I toss it in. The bag is durable and resealable, and doesn't take up unnecessary space. I haven't experienced any digestion issues, excessive burps/aftertaste, gas, defecation/fecal issues, or anything like that; everything seems to pass through as pea protein should, and there are no negative effects on energy (although one thing to consider is that I always drink protein after workouts/cardio and have a healthy digestive system). The only complaint I have is that the seal on the bag (similar to a Ziploc Pinch & Seal sandwich bag) does not seal well and easily comes apart. This could partly be due to powder blocking the seal, but it seems like the seal itself is undersized. That said a dust-off followed by a good pinch usually keeps it closed well enough for me; others may need to find a suitable container for storage.Other thoughts:-Be aware that there is no scoop in the bag. If you don't have a suitable scoop, there is a conversion chart on the back of the bag which converts tablespoons to grams (6 grams per tablespoon, 30 grams per serving, so 5 tablespoons per serving).-This protein is high in iron, which makes it a great daily supplement for vegans-Shortly after receiving my order I got an e-mail from BulkSupplements.com offering me a free sample of anything in their catalog. You may not be so lucky depending on when you're reading this, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning on buying more than one of their products.

This is a good product. High protein, no carbs, no flavoring or sweeteners, just mixes in to everything with no problem. Lately I've been adding it to my "peanuts only" peanut butter (which is surprisingly runny) - it helps to thicken it up and keep it on my cracker

I am a fan of yellow pea protein because it is a complete protein. Also, it can be made thick to the consistency of milk--in cold enough water, it is bland and tastes like a reasonable replacement for milk. At room temperature, it just tastes kind of bland, but that's okay. I'm in it for the nutritional benefit of a complete protein source at a great price, not seeking flavor country. However, when you mix it with instant coffee (as I experimented with), I found that it didn't coagulate like whey protein does when it comes in contact with water that's too hot. So, that makes it superior for use in coffee or hot cocoa compared to whey protein. Also, compared to a half gallon of milk, it's also a bargain for the protein. However, there's only 1 gram of fat and one gram of carbohydrate per serving (if I recall correctly), which means that one has to replace any fats or carbohydrates in one's diet to the extent desired if switching from dairy. My suggestion for getting the equivalent fats found in dairy would be a tablespoon of coconut oil, MCT oil, or sunflower oil.
