    It's not a bright red color, but that's not a problem it's just an observation. It's a fine powder, but did not cause a dust cloud when I opened it. It tastes bright and fresh. As it should, has a very very strong tomato flavor

    Tastes like fresh tomatoes! Really good color & flavor!

    For a dried, shelf stable powder, this stuff is amazing! The color is a vibrant red and the flavor is as good as a freshly sliced, garden tomato, not even those mealy store bought ones! Tomatoes have naturally occuring glutamates which gives them an umami flavor which is very useful in a variety of dishes when you want that extra "mmmm yummy" effect without using msg. This powder fully captures that umami flavor so a tablespoon of this in your food is really tasty without having to add more salt or processed flavoring. I'm really impressed with the quality and freshness of this powder and would definitely recommend it, especially when preparing dried meals for backpacking, etc. It does have a miniscule amount of added maltodextrin as a flowing agent which I usually prefer to avoid but it's such a small percentage, it doesn't really bother me.
