Product details

The B+W 39mm Master UV Haze MRC Nano 010M Glass Filter is a premium, color-neutral optical glass filter designed to protect your valuable camera lens while maintaining absolute image purity. Engineered for passionate photographers and professionals alike, this essential camera accessory effectively blocks the invisible ultraviolet components of daylight.

By eliminating these disruptive UV rays, it prevents unwanted blurring, loss of contrast, and the annoying bluish color casts often encountered in high-altitude mountain ranges, open coastal regions, and vast sea landscapes. Beyond its impressive optical performance, this Master series filter serves as a permanent, heavy-duty shield against physical hazards like airborne dust, unexpected moisture droplets, fingerprints, and accidental scratches.

Crafted from premium optical glass housed in a slim, black knurled brass mount, it ensures an ergonomic grip and prevents vignetting even when used on wide-angle full-frame formats down to 17mm. This authentic imported filter is an indispensable addition to any gear kit, ensuring your lens stays pristine without compromising exposure settings.

  1. Gently clean your camera lens front element to remove any existing dust or fingerprints.
  2. Align the threaded mount of the 39mm filter with your lens thread.
  3. Carefully screw the filter in a clockwise direction until it is securely attached and flush against the lens.
  4. Do not overtighten.
  5. Leave the filter on permanently to act as a protective shield during active photography sessions.

Suits Inside Leica and Voigtlander 39mm Lens Hoods

I tried a number of other UV filters than claimed to be 'thin'. However, this was the first that I would fit under a 1970s Summicron 35mm lens with lens hood and the Voigtlander Color-Skopar 21mm f/3.5 Aspherical Lens for Leica M.

FAQs

Does a UV filter affect image quality?

A high-quality filter like the B+W Master series is crafted from premium optical glass with advanced multi-resistant nano coatings. This ensures maximum light transmission and color neutrality, meaning it protects your lens without degrading sharpness or altering the exposure of your photographs.

Can I leave this UV filter on my lens all the time?

Yes, this filter is specifically designed to be left on your camera lens permanently. It acts as a primary physical barrier protecting your expensive lens element from dust, moisture, and accidental scratches while you shoot.

Will this 39mm filter cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses?

No, it features a specialized thin-profile brass mount designed to prevent vignetting. It is safe and effective for use on full-frame camera formats down to a 17mm focal length.

How can I verify that this B+W filter is an authentic imported product in India?

Dropy sources this product directly from the USA to ensure absolute authenticity for Indian photographers. The product comes in eco-friendly packaging that includes a unique QR code, allowing you to instantly verify its genuine origin.

What does the MRC Nano coating do?
