Product details
Description
The Cable Matters 15 Pin SATA Power Extension Cable Pack is an essential toolkit for desktop computer building, upgrading, or repairing. Designed to extend the reach of your existing power supply unit connection, each eight inch internal cable bridges the gap between your power source and essential internal components. Whether you are adding a new solid state drive, a high capacity hard drive, an optical drive, a DVD burner, or a compatible PCI Express card, this male to female extension provides the required flexibility without straining internal connectors.
Engineered specifically for custom PC builders and tech enthusiasts, these extensions resolve the common issue of rigid, daisy-chained power cables that struggle to fit inside tightly packed computer chassis. The eight inch length provides the optimal amount of slack to improve internal cable management, allowing you to route cables cleanly around adjacent components without obstructing airflow or blocking nearby seven pin SATA data lines. Heavy duty internal construction guarantees stable performance across all modern desktop configurations.
Featuring premium eighteen AWG wiring, these extension cables are built to withstand constant usage while delivering consistent power without performance degradation. They feature multi voltage compatibility, safely supporting three point three Volt, five Volt, and twelve Volt power requirements across your internal devices. Built with easy grip treads on the molded connectors, this three pack ensures secure, snug connections that are simple to plug and unplug during computer assembly.
How to use
- Turn off your computer and disconnect the main power supply unit cable from the wall outlet.

FAQs
Is SATA cable for SSD or HDD?
A fifteen pin SATA power cable is universally compatible with both solid state drives and hard disk drives. It provides the necessary electrical power to run either type of storage drive inside your computer chassis, provided the drive uses the standard SATA interface.
What is the difference between SATA 2 and SATA 3 power?
There is no difference between SATA two and SATA three power connectors because the terms relate to data transfer speeds rather than power transmission. The standard fifteen pin power connection remains the same across all versions, supplying consistent voltage regardless of the data interface generation.
Can I use any SATA cable for my HDD?
You can use any standard fifteen pin SATA power cable extension or splitter to power a desktop hard disk drive. Ensure the cable uses premium gauge wiring, like eighteen AWG, to guarantee stable power delivery to your internal storage devices.
