FAQs
What do I use for the SSD power cable?
An SSD requires a 15 pin SATA power cable from your computer power supply to function. If your power supply runs out of these connections, you can use a SATA power Y splitter cable to power two SSDs from a single connector.
Can this SATA power splitter handle both 3.5 inch hard drives and 2.5 inch solid state drives?
Yes, this splitter supports standard 15 pin connections and handles 3.3V, 5V, and 12V voltage lines. It can safely power 2.5 inch SSDs, 3.5 inch internal HDDs, and internal optical drives.
Does this cable splitter affect the data transfer speed of the hard drive?
No, this is strictly a power distribution cable and does not transport data. Your data transfer speeds depend entirely on your SATA data cables and motherboard ports.
