FAQs
What is a SATA splitter?
A SATA splitter is an internal computer cable that takes a single power connection from your power supply unit and divides it into multiple ports. This allows you to power several hard drives, solid-state drives, or optical drives simultaneously without needing extra cables from the power supply.
How many SATA drives can I power per cable safely?
You can safely power up to four standard solid-state drives or low-power mechanical hard drives using this high-quality four-way splitter. Always ensure your overall system power supply has enough total wattage capacity to support the additional hardware components you are installing.
Will this 18-inch cable reach across a large computer case?
Yes, the 18-inch length is specifically chosen to provide ample reach across mid-tower and full-tower computer chassis. It allows you to route the wiring along the back of the case panel to keep your build looking clean and organized.
Is this Cable Matters splitter an authentic USA import available in India?
Yes, this product is a genuine Cable Matters accessory imported directly from the USA. Dropy sources these items directly from trusted American suppliers to ensure Indian PC builders receive authentic components.
Does this cable transmit data or just power?
This is strictly a power splitter cable designed to deliver electricity from your power supply unit to your storage drives. You will still need separate SATA data cables connected to your motherboard to transfer data.
