Performs superb
I think there's probably 1 million ways to punch holes in the bottom of a butane canister. This is clearly one of those ways. In all fairness, it worked fine. It's simple and unlikely to generate a spark when using. So this is probably safer than most of the alternatives. I would buy it again, even though I feel a tad silly.

Works perfectly!
I have dozens of half used spray paint cans in my garage cabinet. Been lugging them around with me for years not sure how to get rid of them. This little tool allows you to puncture the can easily and safely so you can drain the unused paint out. I drained 10 cans in about 15 minutes. Just be careful after all the pressure escapes when you flip the can back upside down the paint still comes out with some force. So have a bucket or box set up to catch stray streams of paint.
