I like that it uses retinal rather than retinol since retinal is generally considered a step up in effectiveness while still being gentler than prescription tretinoin. The formula is also fragrance free and does not contain essential oils, so there really is not much of a scent.- The ingredient list includes several barrier supporting ingredients such as glycerin, niacinamide, dimethicone, and panthenol. I also like the addition of peptides, adenosine, and soothing azulene, which should help make the retinal easier to tolerate.- Since this contains 0.05% retinal, I would suggest starting slowly if you are new to vitamin A products. Even though the formula is designed to be moisturizing, some people may still experience dryness, flaking, or irritation at first. I would start with 2-3 nights per week and increase over time. I have been using retinol in addition to other actives for quite a while so I didn't notice any issues.- I really like that the texture feels more like a moisturizer than a typical strong treatment product. The dual-chamber design isn't just for marketing-it keeps the retinal cream separate from the soothing cream until dispensing. One side contains 0.05% retinal along with Matrixyl 3000 peptides, niacinamide, vitamin C, and adenosine. The instructions on the packaging for this are robust. I use RX retinol on my face every other night (ish) and it's .025% strength. This retinal "shot" appealed to me with the higher strength for some fine lines and dark spots I have on my face and hands (43, female, sun-aware lifestyle).Inside the box are great instructions including a schedule to ease you into using the product since it can be harsh on the skin. It notes a regime for weeks 1-2-3-4 (accidentally tore the weeks off in my photo opening the box).This notes to try on a test patch of skin before using more broadly. I am trying on the back of my hands. You actually do need to press on the tube where the gold circle notes to. There are 3 small openings on the nozzle of the tube and two are the yellow, one is the blue. The first little squeeze or two was just blue so shake it and try again if that happens!The cream is kind of gel-like. It has no scent. It absorbs decently but is slightly tacky after, which makes sense given the texture to start. I'll have to use it over a longer span of time then come back and update this review to see if I need to scale it up or down in my rating, but so far it seems like a good product.

I also really like the scent. It is very light, fresh, and clean, almost as if it is fragrance free, so it is not overpowering or bothersome at all. A little goes a long way, so you only need a small amount with each use, and I appreciate that it comes in a generously sized tube that should last quite a while.From what I have read before trying it, many people have noticed smoother skin, improved texture, and firmer looking skin with continued use, and I can definitely understand why they are excited about it. I also appreciate that it is formulated to be less irritating because of the soothing cream being dispensed at the same time. Since retinal is a powerful ingredient, I am taking it slow and using it exactly as directed while making sure to wear sunscreen during the day. So far I am genuinely impressed, and if these are my results after only two nights, I cannot wait to see how my skin looks after a few more weeks of consistent use.
