    Paste or Putty?

    I tried both the paste and putty trying to figure out the difference between the two. I have been looking for an alternative/replacement for Shu Uemura's hair wax. I've used Tres Flores, and Aveda's brillantine. It's been months, and the difference between this putty and the paste is not huge. The paste has slightly stronger hold - nothing dramatic and is more soluble going into damp hair. The putty pulls the hair a little as it comes off your hands and gets worked in. It's thick like that - not as soluble. The fragrance is pleasant and quiets down quickly after application. The paste is similar. The putty has a bit more body to it and that's what makes it superior to the paste. I couldn't discern a difference in shine or matte. I definitely prefer either of these Clubman products to Tres Flores - and Tres Flores is a good product when my hair is shorter. Aveda's briliiant just doesn't work for me. Shu Uemura's is still the best, but is not a good value at $40 for hair goop. It's going to take me two years to get through the putty. I don't know why I wouldn't buy it again.My daughter is looking over my shoulder and she thinks it's sad that I'm writing all of this for a hair product. Maybe some day she'll understand that it's a gift to enjoy the simple things in life. Putting some stuff in my hair and feeling well groomed makes me happy, and I guess this effort is an attempt to share that happiness. Have a nice life and live it looking good!

    Good Stuff

    This is really good hair product for men. It's really thick and has no shine. Lasts a long time. Has a sweet tobacco / cigar scent to it.
