Had layers of dark oxidative dye buildup and didn't want to touch bleach again because my curls break easily. Used this 4 oz bottle exactly as directed. It shrinks the dye molecules without stripping moisture completely since it has no ammonia. The critical part is rinsing, you literally have to scrub and rinse with warm water for full twenty minutes nonstop or the pigment reoxidizes and darkens right back up. Hair felt a bit coarse right after washing but recovered fast after conditioning.
