Description
The Cotton Cordell Big O Square-Lip Crankbait is a legendary freshwater fishing lure that has remained a favorite among anglers for decades. Modeled after Fred Young's original balsawood hand-carved design from 1967 and transformed into a durable plastic standard, this iconic bait delivers a high-buoyancy body with a distinct, fast-rolling wide wobble.
Featuring a short, squared-off lip, it is expertly engineered to crash into underwater cover such as rocks, wood, stumps, and weeds, and sharply deflect to trigger aggressive reaction strikes from largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and other freshwater gamefish. Operating effectively in lakes, rivers, and streams, the Big O consistently scores in the strike zone to maximize your catch rate.
Whether you are targeting shallow water structures or working through heavy cover, this timeless design brings professional-grade performance and proven fish-catching action to your tackle box.
How to use
- Tie the crankbait directly to your fishing line using a loop knot for maximum freedom of movement.
- Cast towards shallow water cover, structure, or weed edges.
- Retrieve at a moderate, steady pace allowing the square lip to deflect off underwater obstacles to provoke strikes.
