The Creativity for Kids Plant-A-Pet Kitty kit brings together the joy of crafting and the wonder of nature in a fun, educational activity. Designed for children aged six and up, this interactive STEAM activity lets kids personalize an adorable orange kitten planter using two sheets of colorful stickers, puffy ears, and a cute 3D tail.
Once decorated, children can mix the nutrient-rich vermiculite potting mix with water, place it inside the compact planter, and sprinkle the fast-growing USA-sourced chia seeds. In just three to five days, the kitten will sprout a lush, green coat of chia fur.
The kit includes a water dropper to make maintenance simple and independent, alongside a play mat and a pop-out box that converts into a cozy pet bed. Perfect for fostering patience, fine motor skills, and an early understanding of botany, this screen-free DIY activity provides a sense of responsibility as kids nurture their miniature garden friend.
How to use
- First, use the included stickers, puffy ears, and tail to decorate and personalize your kitty planter.
- Next, mix the nutrient-rich vermiculite potting mix with water in a bag until it reaches a moist, clay-like consistency, then place it inside the planter.
- Evenly sprinkle half of the chia seeds over the soil, saving the rest for a second planting cycle later.
- Place the planter on its water tray on a sunny windowsill or desk away from direct hot sunlight.
- Use the included water dropper to keep the seeds consistently moist, and watch your pet kitten sprout green fur within three to five days.

Cool for the kiddos - & adults too !
Great coloring and activity book- I buy a lot of these and can tell which are the decent ones. This book has the full Toy Story "story" through all four movies- so just warning in case you haven't seen one yet. And for all the TS4 fans- a ton of great Forky pics to color at the end!!

Plant-a-pet
I got this for a stocking stuffer for our 2 year former son who had recently entered the world of all things Bluey, or "Be-yew" as he is able to pronounce her name lol. Willingly from our toddler. But it, you won't regret it! I honestly did not expect it to get even half the amount of use that it has. It's stress relieving okay?! Or just buying a rear up/extra of this one. I'm considering buying another one in a different character we treasure it so much. Multiple times a day. Low maintenance and stress relieving lol. Our toddler plays with this article *everyday*. I've even realized myself using it alone lol. He will also grab it and play with it by himself for long periods of time. I mostly bought it because it was Bluey, was a excellent price, and was an thing that we could without difficulty pack in the diaper bag to occupy our toddler while we're out and about and he needs occupying. He will grab it and we will draw with him.
