Description
The Cretacolor Aqua Monolith Woodless Watercolor Pencil Set offers an innovative approach to drawing and painting. Designed with a solid 7 millimeter core of pure colored lead protected only by a fine lacquer coating, each pencil delivers vibrant pigmentation without any wooden casing. Artists can easily switch from creating precise line work with the sharpened point to applying broad, sweeping strokes with the side of the pencil. Because the entire body consists of pure pigment, pencil shavings can even be dissolved in water to mix gouache-like paint washes.
Ideal for professional illustrators, fine artists, watercolor enthusiasts, and hobbyists, these water-soluble pencils work seamlessly across dry and wet techniques. Use them dry like classic colored pencils, dip the tip directly into water for intense bold strokes, or blend dry markings with a wet brush to achieve smooth watercolor washes. Packaged in a durable metal tin box for safe storage, this 36-piece set provides a versatile range of brilliant shades suitable for detailed drawings and expansive artistic creations.
How to use
- Use dry on paper for traditional drawing and fine line work.
- For watercolor effects, brush clean water over dry pencil strokes, dip the pencil tip directly into water before drawing, or apply onto pre-wetted paper.
- Shavings can also be collected and mixed with water in a palette to create custom fluid paint.
