Description
The D'Addario EJ27N Classic Nylon Student Classical Guitar String Set is expertly engineered for beginner musicians and young guitarists playing 3/4 scale fractional classical guitars. Specially scaled to fit smaller instruments, this string set provides the ideal tension and response needed to support proper technique development without causing unnecessary finger strain.
Crafted with high-quality materials manufactured in the USA, the set includes three clear nylon treble strings that produce warm, transparent highs, along with three silver-plated copper wound over nylon core bass strings that deliver rich depth and balanced projection. The normal tension profile offers a soft, comfortable feel under young fingers, making daily practice sessions smoother and more enjoyable.
Designed with traditional tie-end construction, these uncoated classical strings fit standard fractional classical guitar bridges. Each set comes sealed in D'Addario's signature corrosion-resistant packaging, ensuring your strings arrive fresh, responsive, and ready to install.
How to use
- 1.
- Carefully unwrap the string set and identify each string by gauge or color indicator. 2.
- Thread the plain end through the bridge tie block on your 3/4 classical guitar and tie a standard classical bridge knot. 3.
- Feed the other end into the tuning peg roller and wind neatly while maintaining light tension. 4.

Was skeptical at first about buying student strings online since tension can sometimes feel too stiff, but these turned out great. The nylon trebles and wound bass strings fit the 3/4 scale perfectly and make practice much smoother.

FAQs
Do 3/4 size guitars need special strings?
Yes, fractional guitars like 3/4 size classical instruments require strings specifically scaled for shorter scale lengths. Using full-size strings on a 3/4 guitar can lead to improper tension, tuning instability, and poor intonation.
What strings are suitable for a 3/4 size classical guitar?
Nylon strings designed for fractional 3/4 classical instruments are ideal. Normal tension sets with clear nylon trebles and silver-plated copper wound basses offer the best balance of easy playability and warm tone for student musicians.
Are D'Addario EJ27N strings nylon or steel?
The D'Addario EJ27N set consists entirely of nylon strings made specifically for classical guitars. It features clear nylon treble strings and nylon core bass strings wrapped in silver-plated copper. They must never be installed on acoustic steel-string guitars.
Are these D'Addario strings authentic USA imports when bought in India?
Yes, Dropy sources genuine products directly from authorized suppliers in the USA. Every package of D'Addario strings sold on Dropy India is 100% authentic and delivered in factory-sealed corrosion-resistant packaging.
How big is a 3/4 size classical guitar?
A 3/4 size classical guitar typically features a scale length around 22.75 inches (580 mm) and an overall length of about 36 inches. This fractional size is crafted for young learners aged 8 to 11 or musicians seeking a compact classical instrument.
