FAQs
What age is a 5 pound weighted blanket for?
A 5 pound weighted blanket is generally ideal for children who are at least three years old and weigh between 40 and 60 pounds. Pediatricians advise against using weighted blankets for children under three years of age or those weighing less than 50 pounds due to safety and suffocation risks.
Can the inner weighted blanket be washed?
While the dual Cozyheat Minky and Coolmax duvet covers are designed for frequent machine washing, the inner blanket should only be spot cleaned or washed infrequently on a gentle cycle to preserve the micro glass bead stitching. Utilizing the included zippered covers ensures the inner blanket remains clean and hygienic.
How do you choose the right weighted blanket size for a child?
The general guidelines recommend choosing a blanket weight that is roughly 10 percent of your child's total body weight, plus or minus one or two pounds depending on their physical strength. Ensure that the child can easily remove the blanket by themselves for a safe sleeping environment.
