Just what I needed for scar and spot care
Dr Althea is a brand I've learned I can trust. It's a Korean skincare brand that makes effective formulas without any unnecessary ingredients like fragrance or parabens. Everything I've tried of theirs has been fantastic (I especially love their uber hydrating face masks). I was recently told I needed to start using tranexamic acid by my dermatologist to treat my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My skin is slow to heal and any scratch or scrape leaves behind purple scars that last forever. I was told to seek out a high quality tranexamic acid without fragrance to use and I'm confident this cream from Dr Althea is a good bet. The ingredients in here are great and they've posted the list for everyone to see in the listing details. I really respect brands that do that! I don't recognize anything in here that would cause problems for those with sensitivities, although it's always wise to patch test and slowly work a new product into a routine. There's stuff in here to help hydrate and condition the skin in addition to the ingredients to help with dark spots and limit melanin production. I can't yet speak to how effective it is since I've only just started it but this looks like a great formula and if my dermatologist trusts tranexamic acid for the job then so do I. The cream is very comfortable. It has a cloudy milky look but feels water based so it feels light, smooths on and absorbs easily. It can be used as a spot treatment where you need help or can be used to treat the entire face. I'll be using it as a face cream to treat dark spots as well as using it as a spot treatment to help a few bad scars on my leg. The size of the tube and the cost are pretty standard and worth it for a product from a trusted company like this. The bottle comes fully sealed too! You have to puncture the metal top to open it making it perfectly tamper proof.

Good quality cream
This product can be easily confused with a tube of cortisone based on how it looks. Love how secure it's packaged, definitely medical grade. I also like how quickly the cream is absorbed on my skin, and the design of subtle and pleasant smell. After using it, it left no greasy spot and made the area moisturized well. So far, I haven't observed any improvement or adverse effect, but I am grateful it made my skin radiant.

Formulated with concentrations that work
Love that this cream contains 30% licorice extract water, 3% niacinamide and 3% tranexamic acid plus a mix of hydrating and barrier-supporting ingredients. It applies smoothly and provides great hydration while also tackling uneven tone/dark spots over time. It is lightweight and almost like a gel cream. It absorbs well and is not greasy or tacky, making it easy to use under SPF or makeup. It also has no added fragrance, woohoo! My skin is finicky and doesn't love a ton of botanical noise or a ton of layering as it leads to delayed congestion + inflammation, so I'm using this as a spot treatment for areas with pimple scars. For the concentration of active ingredients, I feel like the price is decent. It's not the biggest tube, but used as a spot treatment vs. all over the face, it will last awhile.

comfortable texture that absorbs well, no fragrance, no irritation or drama
I ordered this because I've had really good results with products containing similar ingredients (niacinamide and TXA) on some sun spots on my neck, but I'm still searching for one that doesn't have a sticky texture. This cream really offers the best of both in terms of great ingredients and great texture. This cream has what I can best describe as a cream-serum texture, not greasy or waxy like a cream but not so gel-like that it feels tacky. It absorbs really well and feels slightly moisturizing without looking shiny or feeling suffocating. It doesn't have a fragrance, which is always a plus to me. The best way I can describe this is comfortable; there is no tackiness or pilling, no stickiness, no visible texture, and zero irritation. The tube is fairly small but a very small amount of this goes a long way. Recommended if you're looking for effective brightening ingredients without the discomfort of a thick or tacky texture.
