Description
The Drill America Number 39 by 6 Inch Cobalt Aircraft Extension Drill Bit is engineered for demanding industrial and aerospace applications requiring exceptional reach and durability. Crafted from high-speed steel enhanced with a higher cobalt content, this extension drill bit delivers superior heat and wear resistance when cutting through tough, high tensile strength materials such as stainless steel, inconel, and titanium.
Manufactured to National Aerospace Standard 907 specifications, it features a reliable 135 degree split point that is self-centering and effectively minimizes walking during initial contact. The gold oxide surface treatment provides distinct identification while maintaining performance comparable to uncoated tools.
With its slender round shank and extended overall length, this tool facilitates deep hole drilling in confined spaces and hard-to-reach areas. Ideal for professional machinists, fabricators, and technicians looking for dependable precision performance.
How to use
- Secure the round shank firmly into a compatible tool holding system or drill press.
- Ensure the workpiece is properly clamped and stabilized before operation.
- Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling high tensile strength metals to extend tool life, and maintain steady, moderate pressure while drilling.
