Product details
Description
The Drill America GLBCOX1240 Number 40 by 12-inch cobalt aircraft extension drill bit is engineered for deep-hole drilling and accessing hard-to-reach areas in industrial and aerospace applications. Manufactured from premium M35 cobalt steel with extra cobalt content, this heavy-duty tool delivers exceptional heat resistance and red hardness when working with abrasive or high-tensile strength metals such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys.
The 135-degree self-centering split point prevents walking and reduces thrust upon contact, ensuring precision starts on tough sheet metal and structural surfaces. Featuring a spiral flute design for efficient chip removal and a durable gold oxide finish for enhanced lubricity, this long-reach drill bit provides professional-grade performance for demanding metalworking projects.
How to use
- Secure the straight round shank firmly into a compatible drill chuck.
- Align the 135-degree split point perpendicular to the target material surface.
- Apply steady, moderate pressure at recommended speeds and feeds for cobalt bits, utilizing proper cutting fluid when drilling through stainless steel, titanium, or other high-tensile metals.
