FAQs
What are diamond core bits used for?
Diamond core bits are specialized tools designed for drilling clean, precise holes through hard materials such as brick, concrete blocks, masonry, and stone. They use industrial diamond segments bonded to a steel barrel to grind away material rather than fracture it.
Which bit should be used to drill into brick or concrete?
For soft brick and building blocks, a dedicated dry diamond core bit with #30/40 grit—such as this EDiamondTools model—is ideal because it provides efficient cutting action and a clean finish without requiring heavy hammer blows.
Can this core bit be used with a hammer drill mode?
No, this core bit must be operated in rotary mode only. Using hammer mode can cause severe structural damage to the diamond segments and the core bit itself.
