Product details
Description
The Fishman C-100 Classic Series Cello Pickup is an essential acoustic transducer designed for cellists seeking natural tone amplification without modifying their instrument. Utilizing a lightweight piezo-ceramic element, this pickup accurately captures direct string and body vibrations while keeping acoustic muting to a bare minimum.
It features Fishman's patented Floating Mount System, which wedges securely and non-invasively into the bass wing slot of the bridge, eliminating the need for permanent alterations or a luthier. Engineered to deliver exceptional feedback resistance during live performances, the C-100 integrates smoothly with standard instrument setups via a tailpiece-mounted 1/4-inch jack and a 10-foot cable.
While it operates passively, pairing it with an impedance-matching preamp unlocks its full frequency response warmth and depth. Ideal for performing musicians and studio artists, this authentic USA-imported cello pickup ensures your instrument's true acoustic voice shines through every speaker.
How to use
- Measure the opening of the bass side wing slot on the bridge using a caliper; the opening should be between 0.060 inches and 0.090 inches.
- Use the provided wooden shim strip if the gap is wider to secure a tight fit.
- Wedge the patented Floating Mount into the bridge wing slot carefully, mount the 1/4-inch jack securely to the tailpiece, and connect the 10-foot cable.
- An impedance-matching preamp is recommended for optimal frequency response.

solid pickup
The box was slightly crushed at the corner when the order arrived which made me nervous, but thankfully the unit itself was totally safe inside. Plugged it in for Sunday service and it works cleanly with the tailpiece jack. Happy with the purchase.
