How to survive without Fixodent Control Denture Cream

Fixodent Control was the best product ever for upper denture wearers. For some reason, Proctor & Gamble took it off the market. Fear not. While Fixodent Food Seal is not great, you can get a super hold if you combine it with Fixodent Extra Hold Powder. Here's how: Circle your top denture with Food Seal (with two extra stripes as shown on the tube). Next, turn on a LIGHT STREAM OF COLD WATER, run your denture under the water for a few seconds, carry the denture (with the remaining water) over to the toilet. Now, tip off the water while squeezing the powder to completely cover the denture (and the paste). Turn the denture over and shake of the access. Put your denture in your mouth and hold in place with your thumbs for 2 to 3 minutes and you have a hold comparable to Fixodent Control (still wish P & G would bring it back though). Keep smiling!

    Very satisfied!

After using all kinds of adhesive creams and strips that left a lot of annoying goop after removing the dentures I bought Fixodent-plus in a drug store, just to try it. After the first few times of testing I found that his is the best adhesive cream that I have found up to now, and it I am ordering it from now on from Dropy: The nozzle is very small, so the adhesive comes out in a thin streak and no gooey 'blob' oozes out. I found that a trick helps even more: Before I use it I let the tube sit in warm water, upside-down. This makes it even easier to squeeze the adhesive thinly on the denture. It holds the denture perfectly in place, and if one 'paints' the streak of adhesive very close to the rim of the denture and follows the diagram where else to place the adhesive, no significant food particle can 'sneak' through this barrier. Of course, there is some residue of 'goop' when the denture is being removed, but so much less than any of the others, even the strips - up to now this is the best I could find!
