FAQs
Do olla pots really work?
Yes, olla pots work through soil physics. The porous clay body naturally releases water into the surrounding soil only when the earth is dry, ensuring your plants receive a consistent and automatic supply of moisture.
Are terracotta self-watering pots good for plants?
They are exceptionally beneficial because they promote deep downward root growth and prevent common issues like overwatering or root rot by delivering moisture directly to the root zone.
What are the disadvantages of olla pots?
Potential drawbacks include mineral salt buildup on the clay surface over time and the risk of cracking if left outdoors in freezing winter temperatures without protection. Regular cleaning helps maintain their efficiency.
