Performs great, seems great
I recently purchased this radio for work with on my outdoor porch. The most immediate distinction I felt was the weight of the box. It was solid. It was significantly heavier. The dials and controls also felt sturdier and more substantial than its predecessor. And after I plugged it in and turned on the sound it also sounded "heavier" and would suit the outdoor environment much better. Once I unpacked it I continued to feel how much more this radio weighed. Actually it was an exchange for a akin but less expensive unit (Looptone Village Wooden FM/AM radio). I was not wholly dissatisfied with it but the sound did not carry properly outdoors. Hence I ordered the upgrade. I have its "sister" radio in my bedroom and it sounds just fine. Update: The next weekend I did use the radio while doing outdoor chores and the sound carried adequately into the yard! Even though it cost twice as much I would highly suggest the upgrade.

Love it!
I absolutely love this little radio I picked up! I utilize it when I head to work at night; it creates the feeling of someone being in the house, which is comforting, specifically when living alone. It impressively delivers powerful sound for its measurements.
