this base and top coat set work great. This helped my gel polish stay in place. It provided a good base layer for the gel to adhere to and the top coat made it shine like glass. It over all gave me a strong nail that was practically indestructible. I tried to peel it off and it wouldn't budge.It took about 1 minute to dry each coat. it was slightly tacky but dried completely solid.The containers are on the smaller side but you will get a lot of use out of them so it doesn't bother me. I really liked how these went on so smooth and even creating such a glass like appearance.

Strange brush but the product works as intended with good results
This Gellen gel base coat and top coat set comes with two 12 ml bottles and retails for about $8. The bottles are matte black plastic with plastic caps, and both products are glossy finish. Right out of the box, I did have one small issue where the brush detached from the cap on the base coat, but twisting the cap back on tightly fixed it, and it did not happen again after that.Formula-wise, both the base and top coat are on the thicker side. The base coat cures very tacky, which actually worked well when applying gel polish on top, especially glitter gels. The tackiness helped the glitter spread evenly without needing extra dabbing. The base coat looks streaky at first, but if you let it sit for a moment before curing, it self-levels nicely into a smooth surface. I was able to fully cure both the base and top coat in about 60 seconds under a portable UV LED lamp.The top coat cured hard, glossy, and smooth with no wipe needed, and it looks durable once set. One downside for me was the brush design. The brush shape is unusual, almost triangular when viewed straight on, with uneven bristle lengths that curve inward instead of having a rounded edge. This made application feel less precise compared to brushes from brands like Beetles or Melody Susie. The base coat also has a noticeable odor, despite being labeled low odor.Overall, the products perform well once applied and cured, but for the same price range, there are other brands that offer larger bottles, glass packaging, and more user-friendly brushes. This set works and does what it claims, but it would not be my first choice given the alternatives available at a similar price point.

It's ok.
I found the top coat and base coat are fairly thick out of the bottles. It took a couple extra strokes over the nail to get a smooth coating. It does harden well under the UV light though.

Works Well Under UV Lamp, Bulky Applicator Brushes.
I found this Gellen Gel Base and Top Coat Polish to be relatively thicker in consistency than other similar products I have used. Unfortunately, I feel the bristles of the application brushes are too bulky and stiff to apply the polishes with precision. I applied this base coat on one nail and another brand of base coat on the nail right next to it. I found the application of the Gellen base coat to be messier looking with more Gellen base coat ending up on my cuticles than the other brand. However, the Gellen base and top coats perform well under the UV lights. I did find that these polishes had a lower odor than other brands which is a plus. Also they are TPO-, HEMA- and TMPTA- free.I will likely use this base and top coat polishes on nail tips that I polish on a stand before gluing to my natural nails, thereby avoiding the 'messy' brush application issue.[Note: Country of Manufacture and Full List of Ingredients printed on the box.]
