FAQs
What is a 2B pencil used for?
A 2B pencil is widely used for general sketching, drawing, and shading because it provides a softer, darker mark than standard HB pencils. It allows artists to achieve rich shadows and smooth tonal transitions with ease.
What are 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B pencils used for?
Pencils graded from 2B to 6B become progressively softer and darker as the number increases. They are primarily used for artistic sketching, deep shading, and creating dramatic contrast, with higher numbers producing much richer blacks.
Is 2B the darkest pencil?
No, 2B is not the darkest pencil available. While it offers a moderately dark mark, grades like 4B, 6B, and 9B are significantly softer and produce much darker blacks.
Are these General's charcoal pencils authentic USA imports?
Yes, this product is an authentic USA import sourced directly to ensure genuine artist-grade quality for Indian creators.
What pencil is better, 2B or hb?
Neither pencil is objectively better; rather, they serve different purposes. HB is harder and lighter, making it ideal for technical writing and light outlines, whereas 2B is softer and darker, making it better suited for artistic shading and sketching.
