One Year Review: Durable and Compostable
I was initially hesitant to purchase plastic-alternative trashbags fearing they would compare in utility and strength. It was also greatly discouraging to hear that most "compostable" plant-based polymer bags likely are destined to the same longevity as plastic because 1) they can only break down in an industrial composting facility which is not available and 2) many landfills are too deprived of oxygen to facilitie decomposition of anything. This however turned out to be greatly misleading after talking directly to my local landfill operations. Trash is sufficiently aerated by mixing or is not compacted for a period long enough to allow these bags to break down.I had lightly buried a bag and will update this review as it decomposes. My first attempt, which I unfortunately did not document, did disintegrate greatly in about 7 months.These Green Earth bags have never leaked or broke on me. I use these in two different households and have used 200 between them in one years time. If you leave them in a bin too long (about 4 days) they "sweat" a bit of condensation on the bottom but now I add a paper towel underneath just in case. It is certainly worth the switch. I am more at ease knowing I no longer directly support the plastic bag industry.

Reasonable price and compostablr
I line my small container with a paper towel on the bottom and the green compostable bag. The container has a double filter in the top so there is no Oder. I am happy with this combination of products

Sturdy bags used for both city pickup and at home composting
These are good sturdy bags. We started buying them in 2018 to compost food scraps through our city's curbside compost pick up program. These bags have the ASTM D6400 certification which was what our city required. Our household of 2 adults used 1-2 bags a week, so 1 box of 100 bags lasted us a whole year. Now we are using them for composting at home, and they definitely biodegrade. We compost both food scraps and dog poop at home. I also love that packaging is simple, just 1 roll of bags inside a cardboard box.
