Product details
Description
The Hall Crystal Flute 11704 is an exquisite, professional-grade musical instrument designed for musicians, folk music enthusiasts, and collectors who appreciate unique craftsmanship. Handcrafted in Washington State, USA, by master flute maker James Hall, this instrument is precision-sculpted from high-quality borosilicate glass containing eighty-one percent quartz.
It features a modern Boehm taper that allows it to produce stunningly accurate, crystal-clear tones across a two and a half octave range. Styled with an elegant, kiln-fired Green Ivy vine decoration, the enamel patterns are permanently fused to the glass to ensure lasting durability without sacrificing sound resonance.
This six-hole inline glass flute is pitched in the key of G, making its sound profile sit beautifully between a standard concert flute and a piccolo. It is exceptionally well-suited for playing traditional Irish, Celtic, and folk music.
Because it is designed as a historical folk instrument without a modern metal lip plate, it requires a slightly tighter embouchure, offering an authentic playing experience similar to a traditional tin whistle. Each flute arrives safely nestled in a premium, foam-lined dark green storage box complete with a gold-stamped logo and a comprehensive fingering chart to assist players of all levels.
How to use
- Hold the flute horizontally, aligning your fingers with the six inline tone holes using the provided fingering chart for guidance.
- Place your lips against the raised edge of the mouth hole without a lip plate, forming a slightly tighter embouchure than you would use for a modern metal concert flute.
- Blow a focused stream of air across the embouchure hole to produce a tone.
- After playing, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to wipe down the glass body, removing any moisture or fingerprints.
- Always store the instrument inside its custom foam-lined protective box when not in use to prevent accidental damage.
