math with a twist
Our 3 yo struggles with his numbers. He can count off the top of his head, but the numbers don't mean anything to him. I figured this abacus would assist with it. So far, it has not. But that's more his problem than an issue with the abacus. The quality is pretty cheap, overall. Very lightweight plastic. It's surprisingly held up to our kiddo tossing it all around the room, though, so maybe it's better quality than it seems. The rods have a twist in them so that the beads "change color" as you move them from side to side. This has proven very enjoyable to our kid and has entertained him at least 15 minutes a day since we gave it to him. 15 minutes of entertaining is awesome for a 3yo.Overall, solid option with interesting features that will be more likely to keep a kid interested than a regular one.
