Description
Protect and preserve your fine woodwork with Hope's 100 Percent Pure Tung Oil. This premium, all-natural wood finish is extracted from tung nuts, offering a superior alternative to synthetic sealers. Designed to penetrate deep into wood fibers rather than simply coating the surface, it hardens within the wood to create a resilient, waterproof barrier.
This natural finish is ideal for both indoor and outdoor projects, including kitchen butcher blocks, cutting boards, fine furniture, and antiques. Because it contains no chemical thinners, diluents, or additives, it is a safe choice for food-contact surfaces once fully cured. The oil enhances the natural grain and texture of your wood, providing a beautiful, hand-rubbed, low-gloss sheen that resists moisture, alcohol, and everyday wear.
Perfect for craftsmen and DIY enthusiasts alike, this pure oil provides a timeless, professional-grade finish that stands the test of time. Whether you are restoring an heirloom or protecting a new kitchen island, this USA-imported formulation ensures high-quality results for your most valued wood surfaces.
How to use
- Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free of any previous finishes or grease.
- For the first coat, many craftsmen thin the oil with a suitable solvent to improve deep penetration into the fibers.
- Apply the oil generously using a cloth or brush, allow it to penetrate the wood, and then meticulously wipe away all excess oil from the surface to prevent a sticky or gummy texture.
- Allow each coat to cure fully for at least 24 hours, depending on the environment, before applying subsequent coats.
