I've never used any products from the brand ILIA before, but I've seen it around (heard good things!) and wanted to try it. This felt like a really good introduction.I picked shade Mesh 10N, described as a light shade with neutral undertones, after comparing a few options. I'm a light to medium, cool toned olive, and I use Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Sand for reference. This shade is pretty close, maybe a bit more yellow and slightly warmer than I expected, but still very workable. There was one shade lighter that was offered to me that may have worked as well (I can't be exactly sure, possibly Satin 5N), but I ultimately went with this one. The deeper shade was definitely too dark and warm, so I think I chose well overall. The formula is what impressed me most. It's a serum style concealer, which is becoming more common in makeup but still feels relatively new compared to traditional thicker concealers. It has a lightweight, skincare-like texture but still delivers good coverage. It feels thick in a creamy way, not watery, oily, or slippery. The small, doe foot wand made application easy, even in the tiny spot between my eyes and nose, and would be perfect if you have small dark spots that need a light hand. It blends easily and then sets down nicely without feeling dry or tight.I also really like the inclusion of skincare ingredients, especially peptides like Matrixyl 3000. (You may have heard of it.virally as "Botox in a bottle" when paired with another peptide, Argireline. Though not quite, it does help signal collagen production). These are known for supporting skin elasticity and helping reduce the appearance of fine lines over time, which makes it feel more like a hybrid between makeup and skincare rather than just coverage alone.I tested it on mostly bare skin with no foundation and it still brightened my under eyes a lot without looking heavy or cakey. It also wore extremely well. The brand claims 12 hours of wear, and I'd say it genuinely held up all day on my under eyes until I washed it off, even without setting powder. I think it would likely last even longer with powder or on areas of the face that don't move as much.It also plays well with how I like to do makeup. I can see it working both under or over foundation depending on the look, and it probably pairs really well with color corrector underneath for extra darkness. I use Missha BB cream, and I think this would layer beautifully with it.Overall, this is a really solid first impression of the brand. It's a step up in quality from my usual drugstore concealer, and while it's pricier, the formula and performance feel worth it. I'd definitely keep using it.(In my photos, there are two swatches. The first is a decent swipe, no blending, and the second is blended and patted onto the back of my hand.)
Absolutely amazed at the quality, this concealer provides amazing coverage while feeling light and moisturizing. It is a creme-like concealer, it does feel like a true serum with a silk feel and easy to spread on your skin. I have never used premium makeup, and now I can totally understand why some people prefer it. It is worth it! Application was a breeze, I just dabbed it on with the wand and then spread it with a beauty blender. It went on with no streaks and I have to tell you the shades are super forgiving. My shade was "Mesh" and it perfectly covered up some discoloration and pores.Great product for middle aged skin, no 'crepeing' and no caking.
