Description
The IXS Flow Evo Plus Elbow Guard offers high-performance, low-profile protection tailored for trail, enduro, and all-mountain cycling enthusiasts. Engineered with innovative Xmatter viscoelastic polymer padding, this unisex protective sleeve effectively absorbs heavy impact forces upon contact while remaining incredibly soft and flexible during active riding.
This unique, open-cell composition allows mountain bikers to maintain a complete range of motion and fluid arm flexibility when tackling technical climbs or navigating tight singletracks. Constructed from structural AeroMesh fabric, the sleeve provides a highly breathable, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial fit that keeps your skin cool and fights odor buildup over long hours on the saddle.
The updated design includes an adjustable LoopLock hook-and-loop strap system alongside a comfortable slip-on fit to guarantee the pads stay securely positioned without slipping during intense movements. For effortless maintenance after muddy trail sessions, the protective Xmatter inserts can be fully removed, allowing you to easily wash the fabric sleeve.
Packable and compact, these premium guards can be effortlessly stowed away in your backpack during transitions, making them the ultimate protective gear for riders seeking robust safety without the restrictive bulk of traditional hard-shell body armor.
How to use
- To determine your correct size, measure the circumference of your arm approximately ten to fifteen centimeters above the elbow joint.
- Slip the guard over your arm, positioning the internal Xmatter protective pad directly over your elbow.
- Securely fasten the LoopLock hook-and-loop strap at the top of the sleeve to achieve a snug, comfortable fit that prevents slippage while riding.

FAQs
iXS FLOW vs. iXS CARVE Review - What's the difference?
The Flow Evo Plus features a lightweight, low-volume, and packable design ideal for trail and enduro riding, utilizing a slimmer profile for maximum pedaling freedom. In contrast, the Carve Evo Plus model incorporates extended padding zones and thicker armor sections designed for heavier-duty protection during downhill and freeride mountain biking.
Are the padding inserts in these elbow guards removable for washing?
Yes, the Xmatter impact pads can be easily slipped out from the internal pockets. This allows you to machine wash the structural AeroMesh fabric sleeves to remove sweat and dirt without damaging the shock-absorbing polymer material.
Can these mountain bike elbow pads be worn comfortably under cycling jerseys?
Absolutely. The Flow Evo Plus is specifically designed with an ultra-thin, low-profile slip-on construction that fits seamlessly under most long-sleeve and three-quarter cycling jerseys without bunching up or restricting your arm movement.
