    Some Research Says It Improves Dopamine Levels (Antidepressant). Can Increase Thyroid Levels. Pro...

    I got this because it's supposed to help increase dopamine level and help with depression from stress. I have continuous neck pain and headaches most of the time and have gone to so many doctors who never know how to help the situation. I had neck surgery where 5 of my 8 vertebras were fused together - ten screws bolted to a metal plate and those five vertebras. It fixed the stenosis and numbness but increased my pain. Continuous high levels of pain cause continuous stress and can become depressing after five long years with no indication it will ever improve - only get worse. But now I see numerous warnings, the worst of which is its effect on thyroid levels. It can increase thyroid levels, which is the last thing I need. I don't take any thyroid medication because my thyroid levels are mostly within specification except the TSH level is zero. That means the pituitary gland believes I'm already producing too much thyroid medication. And extra thyroid levels will cause atrial fibrillation which happens to me periodically anyway. So people with atrial fibrillation should not take L-Tyrosine especially if their thyroid levels are already high or bordering on being too high. High thyroid levels are well known to cause atrial fibrillation. So now I'm not quite sure what to do. I may experiment for a while and be aware it might cause atrial fibrillation. There are other conditions Tyrosine can affect, so do some research using a Google search or the likes. Tyrosine is supposed to be taken on an empty stomach to get the best benefits of increased dopamine levels. Supplements rarely ever give any instructions other than a serving size is one capsule. The promotional material are rarely included with the product itself, but this Jarrow Formulas bottle does state to take it on an empty stomach first thing when you wake up. Furthermore, it says to take it with juice as a carbohydrate source. In the photos below, I put a full sized round aspirin on the left side and an acetaminophen table on the right side so you can get an idea of the size of this capsule. The capsule is in the middle. It's not small, but I can swallow it without much effort.
