FAQs
What is the strap firefighters wear?
Firefighters wear a specialized radio strap designed to hold their portable communication devices securely over their shoulder. This system keeps the radio protected under or over turnout gear while ensuring the microphone remains accessible near the lapel for clear communication.
How to wear a firefighter radio?
A firefighter radio is typically worn using a cross-body radio strap running from the shoulder to the opposite hip, positioning the holster securely at the side. An anti-sway strap is then attached to the duty belt to prevent the heavy radio from swinging forward during physical activities.
