FAQs
Are spudgers good for opening phones?
Yes, spudgers are the industry standard tool for safely opening smartphones. Nylon and plastic spudgers allow you to pry open tight seams and disconnect internal ribbon cables without scratching components or causing electrical shorts.
What is a metal spudger used for?
A metal spudger is used for prying open exceptionally tight or heavily glued electronic casings that plastic tools cannot penetrate. Because they are made of steel, they should be used with precision along outer seams to avoid scratching internal parts.
Can a spudger damage electronics?
While nylon spudgers are highly non-abrasive and safe, any tool can cause damage if excessive force is applied. Metal spudgers require extra care to ensure they do not pierce batteries or scratch internal circuit traces.
