This fills a remarkably crucial void in an emergency.
The sound quality is very good. I love the digital reception and visual display.I have recently started listening to a Christian radio program from the Urban Alternative hosted by Reverend Tony Evans. As I listen to it five days of the week I found it was always at a time I was listening from my phone on Bluetooth or going to my van and listening. Always shutting one down or starting the other one up. So I broke down and ordered this small digital radio. Now I do not miss a word.I have a couple of the cheap "digital" radios that scan for a station but you have no idea what station you are listening to till you hear a station identification message. That is wasted time in an emergency. The digital readout on this unit solves that problem. But this unit has a weather band as well if the local radio feed fails.Living in a severe storm area it's nice to have an emergency back up for weather information. In one of our last storms we lost a couple of cell towers and a radio station tower as well. This radio will be a nice back up for those times. In my area the radio scanned and locked 28 local FM stations on its own by pressing the scan button. Then I selected 3 favorites on my 3 key buttons. It is a very nice unit. The Weather band has seven channels from 162.400 to 162-550 mhz.It also has an AM band in my area it picked up four local stations. It also has an alarm clock built in. That will be a big bonus if we loose electric from the storms again. Nothing like waking up late for work after being up all night because of a storm. That alarm will fix that problem as well.

Impeccable morning companion
I use this every morning while showering and brushing my teeth. I like to get a start on the day by hearing the latest news and how the traffic is before I go out in it. I mostly listen to NPR and local AM news. The inclusion of NOAA weather radio is good since I live in tornado valley. I haven't figured out how to turn on the weather alert but then again I don't think I would hear it since this radio is kept in my bathroom. As inexpensive as this radio is it, you can store radio channels. Since I really don't listen to music on this radio I can only report on the sound quality of talk radio which is fine, and can be loud enough for most situations. Another cool feature is the backlit display. Im happy with this Dropy find.

Superb little radio!
Great little radio. I keep it in my bathroom and play it while in the shower. It has a way to hang it up on the far side of the shower (away from the water). It has great volume and I was slightly concerned that it might be too loud for the neighbors. It found stations quickly and easily. I did have trouble setting the clock... I still haven't figured out how to do that, but now I'm waiting for daylight savings time to change to set the time on it. The light is only on briefly, so I recommend setting everything in a lighted room before you need it. Also, you really need to memorize which side is the volume adjusting dial and which side I the tuning dial. The words are tiny and a mistake is hard to recover from in the shower. But, other than that. I am very happy with this purchase. It stayed put on the stations I chose on both AM and FM. The antenna is OK, maybe slightly weak, but I live in the country so this is to be expected. No drifting off the stations I chose. Overall great quality.
