FAQs
Is silica sand good for succulents?
Yes, silica sand is excellent for succulents and cacti. Adding it to potting soil improves drainage and prevents the roots from sitting in excess moisture, which mimics the natural, well-draining environment these plants require to thrive.
What is quartz sand used for?
Quartz sand is primarily used in horticulture to improve soil structure and aeration. It is also a popular choice for decorative top dressing in indoor pots, creating a clean look while helping to stabilize plants in their containers.
What kind of sand do you use for indoor plants?
For indoor plants, it is best to use a horticultural-grade silica sand that is clean, pH-neutral, and free from salt or chemical additives. Fine-to-medium grade sand is preferred to ensure proper aeration without compacting the soil.
